Show I i Thursday, July 21 1983 Uintah Basin Standard Mr. The Eristic lesson was Hebrews The sermon was entitled, "Temptation, How Do We Deal With It?" We all know temptation. However, God gives us all tho strength to deal with it. like Christ, we must not stand alone, but carry our concerns to the Lord in prayer. Janies 4: 0 tells us to rebuff temptation and temptation will thereafter stay out of your way. Come near to God, and Ho will come near to you. God will lift you up. God gives eaeh of us the resources to deal with everthing that touches our lives, and temptaion is no exception. The sermon concluded with an affirmation of faith read in unison, followed by the Offertonr and Doxoiogy. .The Lord's Prayer followed by Prayer of Thanksgiving. The parting hymn was, "I Love To Tell the Story." A congregational meeting followed services. Therein the congregation discussed changes in the charter. It was motioned and seconded that a vote on the issues at hand be tabled untfl a later date. Luncheon followed. The sermon concluded with the hymn, "God, id Our Fathers. 1-- 7, Wgina Ferguson e The Kay Rasmussen home was the scene of the Rasmussen family reunion, with a whopping 115 Rasmussens present The relatives were from Salt Lake, Price, Lehi, Alpine, Las Vegas, Vernal, and Roosevelt with the Rasmussen parents coming from West Valley City. Saturday dinner was pot luck; following the dinner, everyone . played games and the kids rode horses while the adults visited. Some of the family returned home Saturday night but the ones who stayed provided Kay with company. Several of the visitors left Sunday, and the remainder left Monday, e John and LaRae Moosman drove to Richfield for the Kitchen family reunion. The visit lasted three days, e Matt and Virginia Ferguson drove to Jackson, Wyoming to attend the .wedding and reception of Virginian niece.
