Show ( 4 Life Uintah Basin Standard Duchesne Florence Smith Legion to wed Auxiliaiy The daughters of Florence Smith announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their mother to Fred Lawson, Laramie, Wyoming. Friends are cordially invited to an open house Wednesday, November 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of Mel and Charolette Allen, 175 E. 200 N., Duchesne. No gifts, please. The Duchesne American Legion Auxiliary Post (F22 meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Phyllis Day, president The Christmas Bazaar, which will be held in the first part of December at the Legion Hall in Duchesne, was discussed. Also discussed was the Veterans Gift Shop located in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake, which provides gifts for the veterans and their immediate families. The Auxiliary members voted to give a cash donation to aid the Veterans Gift Shop. The Auxiliary members also provide at Stewart's gifts for patients Convalescent Villa in Roosevelt, and present them with the Santa Claus who goes there each year. Ten members were present at the November meeting. Culture Club Club meets in Roosevelt Culture Club was held Thursday, November 12, at the home of Ora Labrum with Lena Daniels as Ora showed slides of their trip to Switzerland and pointed out plans of interest. A dessert was served to nine members. Myton Arts Duchesne Mothers club meeting on Nov. 20 Gwen Richens and David E. Nilsson were married October 6 at the White Memorial Chapel in Salt Lake. Dr. Nilsson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Nilsson, Salt Lake. The double ring ceremony was performed by Bishop Walter L. Barlow. The bride's gown featured an skirt which lengthened into a chapel train. The sleeves were sheer bouffant with fitted wrists. The high A-li- collar, cuffs, and bodice were trimmed alecon lace and with seed pearls. A sheer oval inset was also accented with the alencon lace. The bride wore a chapel length silk illusion veil with a Juliet cap. The veil was trimmed with lace motifs and the cap featured lace and pearls which coordinated with her gown. Periodically entertainment was provided by a trio from Richfield, consisting of Robyn, Shannon and Cherk Wilkenson. David Holmes also played the guitar and sang. Susan Holmes, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a dusty rose colored gown with lace trimmed long sleeves. The peplum waistline and gathered collar were also trimmed with lace. She carried a nosegay of burgandy roses,' white carnations and babybreath. The nosegay had white and burgundy streamers. Susan's daughter, Emily Holmes, was the flower girL She wore a rose colored baby doll dress and carried a basket of burgundy roses with white carnations and babybreath. black-trimme- Mark W. Nilsson, brother of the groom, served as the best man. He wore a grey tuxedo with a black velvet collar and bow tie. His shirt d ruffles was white with down tiie front. His boutonnier was a burgundy rose trimmed with babybreath and greenery. Ryan Nilsson, son of the best man, was the ring bearer. He wore a grey wool suit with short pants and knee socks. His boutonnier was similar to his father's. He carried a white satin pillow to which the wedding rings were tied grey-trimme- & LeAnne Smith and Kevin Hicken were married November 14 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. LeAnne is the daughter of Mrs. Doris Smith and the late Leland Smith, Ammon, Idaho. She attended Ricks College before moving to Roosevelt She is currently attending Utah State University. Kevin is the son of Quentin and Lorraine Hicken, Anaheim, Calif. He attended Union High Sehool and graduated from Madison High in Anaheim. He has also spent four years in the U.S. Navy. He is attending USU in Logan. Kevin has been living with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. David Rasmussen, Roosevelt. The newlyweds were honored at a reception in Ammon, Idaho. An open house will be held for them at the Jim and Bonnk Munden home Saturday, November 21, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Frknds and family are cordially invited to attend. Les Femmes D.U.P.
