Butch Jonea of Salt Lake apent the weekend viaiting Mra. Jenny Jonea. e Mr. and Mra. Ron Lefler are the parent of a baby girl born Feb. 6, at the Heber Hospital. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Faye Lefler and Lou Mecham. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burt of Salt Lake spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Gene Burt and family. e Mr. and Mra Frank T. Defa took n care of their Brad Shurtliss over the weekend while Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Shurtliss and Mr. and Mrs. Max Giles attended the cutter races in Elko, Nev. e Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kiesel and son and Al Lee of Manti, spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Clayton and James. e An open house was held Feb. 18 for Mr. and Mrs. Terry Casper. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Darreld Casper. . Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hoover of Mountain View, Wyo., spent a few days visiting Mr. and Mra Leon Casper and family. e Mr. and Mra Pete King and family of Salt Lake spent the weekend viaiting Mra Jenny Jones and family. great-grandso- Win '.3 THE REAL THING? . . .Any one of these situations could have presented a life or death challenge to EMT per-son- were but in reality, just maneauvers el, they training for EMT students. The exercise was held in the G and L building, featuring overturned cars, in smashed and crumpled con dition, complete with bodies in various stages of dwindling life. Trainees were required to assess the condition f the victim, make any necessary emergency treatment, then extracate them from the crumpled car. A number of people were on hand to witness the life-lik- e exercise. His. wife was released this past week after tests and xrays for over a week. Mr. and Mra Earl Van Tassell have been taking eare of the three children with some help from Janice Van Tassell e Bobby Pace of Salt Lake has been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lee since last Tuesday while on vacation. His wife Linda and three children came Friday evening from Salt Lake to visit over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Defa took care of their grandson over the weekend Venice '' ' v t1 and Carol Giles and daughter Sherrie came out Monday to take him home, e ' Mr. and Mrs. Lional Webb and Leah went to Salt Lake Friday on business and it was Leahs birthday so they went shopping and talked to the family for the little while they were in town. e Clifford Roberts and Roland Roberts returned, from a trip to Arizona this past week. They visited with friends in St. George. Wilma and Leola Reid, Delsa Michie and Arvil Michie and many others. They also had Cliff birthday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Roberts who are in Arizona for the winter. Rolands health was much better while down there, as was his fathers. A nice group attended Relief Society Tuesday for work day. The lesson on raising a garden was given by Twila Rhoades. Linda Gines gave a Mini class on the many dishes that can be made with Soy Beans, also a class on home organizing was given by Vida Jensen. They worked on a quilt and a lunch was served. e Mr. and Mrs. Doyel Burt are the parents of a baby boy born Feb. 14. Grandparents are Mr. and Mra. Gale Wagstaff and Mr. and Mra. Gene Burt. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wagstaff of Tabiona, Alice Firth of Duchesne and Pat Burt's mother who lives in California, e Mrs. Janette Turn bow injured her back when she fell on the ice. e Many of the people from our area attended the ahow Buffalo, Rider in Roosevelt this past week. One of our local boys, Reed Turnbow, was in the show. Reed is teaching at Tabiona high school this year. Grandmas remedy good for a cold What can you do for common cold?
