Dear Editor: I just wanted to write a plug for San Juan Hospital. Before I had my baby, I was getting kind of tired of all the concerned looks I would get when I would tell people I was delivering at San Juan. I just wanted to let everyone know that I had my baby (by and had a very good experience. I never felt that I wasnt being taken care of. I had good doctors and GREAT nurses. And because it was a smaller hospital,.I got a little extra TLC (which came in handy at 3 a.m.!), something I did not receive at larger hospitals where I've delivered. think that women who think that they need to go elsewhere to deliver their babies need to reconsider and take advantage of the facilI just ity we have here close to home. UTAH SINCE 1815 AN AWARD WINNING NEWSPAPER Dear Editor: This is a copy of a letter sent to Utah Governor Leavitt. Dear Governor Leavitt, The San Juan School District lost two outstanding teachers (Barbara Bennett Taylor and Suzanne Herman) last week in Spanish Fork Canyon, when a truck slid into their lane and hit them head on. According to the Readers Digest, that stretch of highway is ranked as one of the most dangerous and deadly in the nation. Someone commented the other day, that If Mike Leavitt lived in Price, something would have been done a long time ago! Now that is built, we in the four counties of southeastern Utah make will hope you building more passing lanes and eventually a four lane highway from Spanish Fork to Price, a top priority. Driving that stretch of highway at night, especially in bad weather, is an experience in terror. There are very few passing lanes in 65 miles. Frustrated drivers who get stuck behind the hundreds of slow moving trucks take risks that all too often end as tragically as the one that shocked our County last Thursday. How many people have died in that canyon since construction began? How many more people must die before something is done? Get customized auto coverage with quick claims response.
