Fishing for green sunfish and bass along the dam has been very good with lures. TVout fishing is best in the early mornings and late evenings with bait, such as worms, marshmallows or salmon eggs. Meyers reports that a 0 lb. catfish was hooked this past week. He has also received a number of unconfirmed reports about anglers catching other big catfish in Kens Lake LA SAL MOUNTAINS. DVR Conservation Officer Ed Meyers reports that fishing has been fair to good at La Sal 7-1- Mountain lakes this past weekend. Fishing at Dons Lake has been very good. Medicine Lake and Dark Canyon w'ere stocked on June 13. Hidden Lake and Oowah w'ere stocked on June 9. Warner has been excellent twice in May and once again on June 8. Both Foy and Monticello lakes were stocked during the first week of June. They have been good for smaller rainbows and brookies. Lake Powell - report updated June 15 Wayne Gustaveson, DWR Lake Powell project leader, provides the following report. The lake elevation is 3,682 M.S.L. and the water tem- perature is 72-80- F. Inflow to Lake Powell is only half foot with low' flow releases going out of Lake Powell but it looks like the lake will not fill this year. This is a positive note for the future since flooding new terrestrial vegetation rejuvenates bass and forage fish populations. We got out early before the sun hit the water but did not find any top water bass in Warm Creek. The first cast with a grub in the back of a shallow cove netted a fat 4 pound striper for Mark. Stripers continue to feed shallow in looming twilight. TVy top water, spinner baits and rattletraps in shallow wreedy coves for early stripers. Grubs worked moderately well for smallmouth on broken rock in the back of Warm Creek but not fast enough for us.
