From clothing and tools to saddles and boots, this exhibit explores how the working outfit and environment of the cowbcy has grown to become an American symbol. The exHfc is split into four sections, each one focusing on a different facet -wherher functional, aesthetic or cultural - of the cowboy lifestyle. The first section is devoted to the saddle, examining the types of saddles, their functions and the saddle-makinprocess. The second section highlights the cowboy's practice! yet versatile personal gear, including hats, chaps and boots. "Prized Possession is the theme of the third section, which showcases the fancier rodeo prize buckles, saddles and boots - demonstrating the cowboy's affin ty for fine craftsmanship The fourth and final component, "The Ranch," focuses on the physical and social center of the cowboy's existence. Centering on the chuckwagon, which served as a place not only ta feed the body but the soul, this section is dedicated to the cowboy performing arts, primarily music and poetry. 7, cc n c:g Sclccl June 6 ana lnd.cn jancers cr bese-bc- :' park June 16 breakfast at Serlor Crrer June 17 IK 15-1- wa'k, 5K'C runwak, pc:race he'i rn fair nrs erd crct fair a( '.occer fie'as June EBQ. boxing 17 bike cemcrst-c- r cr dog rcces. cornea. c'd duck race June 17.
