THE SAMPLER, Friday, August 8, 1980 People Two Army votoran over as HHC 1 The seemingly, endless stream of new faces in the 1st Sergeants office at HHC has finally come to and end. Last Friday in a ceremony in the dining facilty, COL Bay and Brenda Klein pinned the diamonds on Jergen Eckhaidt Klein who assumed duties as HHC 1SG on Tuesday. KLEINS colorful 18 year career began in 1959 when he was drafted. . .not by the U.S. Army but into the Budeswher or West German Army. A native of the Norde Rheine West-falle- n state of West Germany, Klein first took Basic Training at Koblenz, Germany. He extended his two year obligatory service by one year and attended the German NCO academy, a pre- takes ARGHERY: SPORT CENTERS requisite to becoming a Military Policeman in the Bundeswehr. KLEIN was discharged in 1962 and immediately joined the U.S. Army. Unfortunately, there being no reciprocal agreement with the German Army, he had to. start from scratch. He entered Basic Training again at Ft. Jackson, S.C. then to Airborne training at Ft. Benning. His experience did not go unnoticed, even , dthough it went unrewarded when he entered, he was a Platoon Leader . - Smith and Wasson lot PrlzOModsl 28" .357 Rsvolvsr Vjfiji 2nd PrlZO TiMitad 3rd-7t- h - Drowning Explorer I" Compound Bow - $ioo Prlzoo Sunsot Gift Cortlflcatoo in basic and when he graduated from Airborne School he was assign- - ed as an infantry Sergeant with the 101st Airborne Division at Ft.
