Show A8 — The Herald Journal Logan Utah Sunday April 25 2004 ' ' s" Obituaries tH LOGAN He graduated from served North 1953 He the US in in Army from 1954- 1956 Ken worked for US West Com- tnunications for 34 years and retired in November of 1990 He was a Member of the American Legion Post 7 Communication Workers of America Telephone Pioneers and the Birch Creek Men's Golf Association He loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer and fisherman Ken's greatest joy was his family He was a friend to all the knew him He is survived by his wife Beverly of Logan Utah daughter Sally Pack of Park City - ' : ' Utah grandchildren Casey and Whitney Pack of Park Citjfi brothers James FTMack of Brigham City Utah and ThomasLee Mack of Salt Lake City Utah Furieral services will be held at noarr on Monday April 26 2004 at the Alien-Ha- ll Mortuary 34 East Center St Logan Utah A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday at the : mortuary and from 10:30 td 11:45 am on Mohday prior to services Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery Derreck Scott Dawson Cache Valley and its abundant wildlife LOGAN On Friday April 23 20(04 a kind and unassuming lady Ellen Hancey McKenney passed from this life on earth due to complications of cancer She was a loving wife mother grandmother great grandmother sister and friend Ellen was bom on May 14 1917 in Hyde Park Utah to Lee Hancey and Florence Reeder Hancey She was the second child and oldest daughter of eleven children Ellen learned many valuable homemaking skills at a very young age which she has practiced all of her life She spent her earty years in Hyde Park attending the local schools graduating from North Cache High School Class of 1 935 She was employed at the Logan Cache Knitting Mills expanding her sewing skills and developing into an expert seamstress and tailor Ellen took great pride in her sewing and continued to sew for her family as well as others throughout her life On March 28 1939 she mar-ried Ray W McKenney in the Logan LDS Temple They were married ter forty years when Ray passed away in 1979 They were the parents of four children who were their pride and joy : and indeed the purpose and fulfillment in their lives Ellen was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various capacities in the Primary and Relief Society organi- zations She was a wonderful example of service to others giving willingly and generously of her time and talents Her beloved brothers Harry and Herman always remarked that they knew two things about their sisters She was a track shot" and "just crazy about In great-grands- Dee's request she wiil be buried next to her mother on Saturday May 1 2004 at 1 pm in the Millville Cemetery with Josephine “Jody” Hood Jensen Josephine "Jody" Hood Jensen died on April 22 2004 in her home with all of ' MILLVILLE Wellsyille'Gity Ceme1 tery Funeral arrangements by I Mortuary Logan AJIeii-Ha'I- — Elldina Nelson - :! 15 1926 and later solemnized their marriage in the Logan LDS Temple on February 7 1940 They were ihe parents of two daughters Fern ' and Diane who were the focus of their- lives Mr Elwood died Nov 20 1970 She married Dueard Balls on Jan 22 1973'" He died on March 1 5 1 986 years Edna worked during the busy harvest season at the DelMonte Packing Com-- !
