service When Richard returned from the Army in 1952 after serving as a line medic in the Korean War they were married on Sept 26 1952 in the Saints Tern- -' Logan Latter-da- y pie Richard was bom in Amalga Utah Aug 30 1930 to Vagn and Ruth Hansen He was active in scouting throughout his youth He con- tinued his commitment to scouting as an adult serving as a scoutmaster for over 25 years Throughout his life Richard has enjoyed coaching youth teams ami has served as Saints ward and a Latter-da- y ' stake athletic1 director As a student at Smithfield Junior High School he became interested in athletics activities that followed him to North Cache High School Richard participated in several spoils while in high school but his love for baseball has been a lifetime interest He played for the Smithfield Legion and then became a member of the Smithfield City team in 1949 The Smithfield City team later became the Smithfield Blue Sox which Richard has been affiliated with for 53 years the last forty as manager He enjoys his relationships with players spectators and the community Richard's interests include listening to music Brenchley Jeannine former Soda Springs Idaho residents Carl and Barbara Norris will celebrate 65 years of marriage together They will be honored at an Richard and LuDean Hansen traveling dancing stamp collecting old friends and attending his class reunions LuDean was bom Nov 11 1932 in Logan Utah to Gordon and Ebba Nielsen She was raised and educated in Hyrum Utah After graduating from South Cache High School she worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator She has been involved with the Latter-da- y Saints church in all organizations LuDean’s love and patience for small children is unmatched She happily spent many years serving in the nursery at her church She also has a special relationship with her grandchildren Her gift of time and attention to her grandkids and their endeavors is exceptional LuDean’s interests include tole and oil painting and handwork of all kinds They are the parents of four children: David and Linda Paul and Kathleen all of Amalga Utah Amy Sandy Utah and Charles and Emily SchofTstall Clayton Calif They are the grandparents of ' nine Alisa Ashley Hayley April Jordan Megan and Nicole Hansen and Benjamin and Logan SchoffstalL They are very involved with their grandchildren and find their greatest joy in their grandkids and their activities 21 2002 open house at the Senior Citizens Center in Logan Utah on 240 N 100 East Friends ' and relatives are invited to come from 2to 5 pm Carl was bom in Randolph Utah and grew up there Bar-bara was born in Pocatello Idaho and lived there until age five when her family moved to Logan She met Carl at Mutual when she was in high school in Logan and he was going to college there They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on Sept 171937 After being married they lived in Laketown Utah for about 15 years when Carl got a job with Monsanto in Soda Springs Idaho and they moved there in 1952 Carl started work as a welder and ' then spent 20 years as an engineer while Barbara got her LPN license and worked at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs They retired in July of 1978 from Monsanto and the hospital They moved to Garden City Utah retaining their home in Soda Springs which they rented out They spent a year in Louisiana with Ann their daughter and her family and then moved back to Garden City In 1979 they started spending their winters in Mesa Ariz returning to Garden City in the summers Finally in 1981 they biiilt a home in Garden City selling the home in Soda Springs but they still wintered in Mesa In September of 1988 they spent a month in Germany with their son David and his family who were stationed there with the Army They took tours of Paris and London and took a trip to southern Pvt Brenchley daughter of John and Launa Brenchof Hyrum completed her Army Basic Training at Fort Jack-so- n ley SC on Aug 29 advance individual training as a respiShe begins a Houston in San Antonio Texas Fort Sam at ratory specialist She is a member of the 328th Field Hospital (US AR) in Salt six-mon- th LakeCity Crossword solution Vv Carl and Barbara Norris Germany with David and his family In 1992 Carl lost his sight shortly after the death of their grandson Christopher son of David He and Barbara sold their house in Garden City and stayed in Mesa on a year-roubasis On Aug 1 1996 they bought a condominium in Logan Utah and moved back into the area to be closer to family members: They are active at the Senior Citizens Center where Carl does line dancing three days a week and Barbara socializes In 2001 they sold their condominium and moved into a nice one flow level apartment on 500 North They have three sons and one daughter They are Mike (Lois) of Pocatello Idaho Ann (KC) Bedingfield of West Jordan Utah David (Carol) of Soda Springs Idaho and Jeff (Cindy) of Orem Utah They have 13 grandchildren and
