“Artemus Ward: The Relevance of a Nineteenth-Centur- y Humorist" “Dr Kinkead’s program provides undergraduates with a rare opportunity to participate at the national level with graduate students and professors” Andrea Tinnemeyer said "Without a doubt having access to a national forum fra1 presenting their arguments will positively impact their future careers in academia” Geary presented on “The Paradox of Color in Helen Hunt Jackson’s Ramona” Harding’s ' paper was entitled “You Gave Them to Me Lord Give Me the Patience id Bear With Them: The Importance of Whiteness In Women in a Patriarchal Society” O’Scanlon presented on “The Duality of Emotion: Blushing and Paling in The Squatter and the Don’” and West’s talk focused on “The Indian’s Best Friend: Brigham Young’s Indian Policy of research and the continuing effort of the department of English to support’re search at the graduate level four undergraduates and one graduate student at Utah State University presented papers at a conference in Albuquerque New Mexico recently The students participated at the 23rd annual Popular Culture Culture Association conference All four undergraduates were recipients of a new initiative for undergraduate research at Utah State inaugurated this semester by Vice Associa-tionAmeric- an Provost of Undergraduate Research Joyce Kinkcad The Academic Opportunity Fund offers qualified undergraduates up to $300 in support of their research endeavors Additional funding was also provided by Negar Davis director of International Students and Scholars Alisha Geary Allison Harding Lesley landscape and art will be presented at Utah State University by Robert Irwin and Andrew Spurlock April 3 thanks to an ambitious project planned by the department of landscape architecture and environmental planning (LAEP) and the department of art A grant from the Marie Eccles Caine Foundation supports the project Internationally recognized artist Irwin and landscape architect Spurlock will present their unique views on perception creativity and collaboration in two presentations on the Utah State campus The first' from 2:30 to 4:30 pm ' is open to members of the campus community The public is invited to the second presentation from 7:30 to 9 pm Both are in the Eccles Science Learning Center Auditorium (room 130) ' adjacent to Widtsoe Hall on the Utah State campus The
