phere” One of the sensors is the Plasma FrequencyDC Probe (PFP) which measures die number of free electrons along the rocket’s path giving scien- tists a measurement of the depth of die ionosphere “The electrons have been : ripped off their atoms by the sun’s and ultraviolet ' are and just floating in rays this region” Swenson said “The free electrons create the ys We are open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm We serve lunch daily at noon Cost $2 donation Please call in your lunch reservation by 10 am the day you would like to join us so that wp can plan on enough food We are located at 675 East Main in Hyrum City Our phone number is Monday: Tia Chi will start at 9:30 Scripture class at 11 Lunch will be served at 12 TUesday: Our Massage Therapist Robyn Baumgarder will be doing back massages on TUesday morning from 9 to 11 If you would like an appointment please call and we will schedule you on Lunch will be served at 12 Wednesday: Tia Chi will start at 9:30 Jerry Jensen will enter- -' tain us today by playing his honky tonk piano Lunch will be served at noon and tire program at 12:30 Thursday At 10 we will be taking a field trip We wiil be going to see the Ellen Eccles Center and the Thatcher Museum and then we will be going out to lunch The only cost will be your lunch Please sign up if you would like a seat in the van Lunch will be served at the Center for those not going on the field trip at 12 Ceramic class will start at 12:30 Friday: Lunch will be served at 12 At 12:30 we will be playing Bingo Please make sine that you sign up for lunch no later than 10 am the day you would like to join us April 3 — We will be holding our Senior Center Talent Show We need everyone to help us to make this a great success Start thinking about a talent you can share with us June 17 18 19 — we will be taking our annual summer trip to St George and the Tauchan Please call and get you name on the list and we will give you all the details We would love to have you join us 245-35- The other sensor is the Atomic Oxygen Experiment (ATOX) which measures th£ amount of atomic oxygen along the flight Atomic oxygen occurs as oxygen found on the Earth’s surface rises and splits Extremely reactive and corrosive it is the reason the space program uses Teflon® to protect surfaces on the shuttles and space station “Understanding how die space environment affects these systems becomes more important as we become more dependent upon spacecraft in our evolving technological society” Swenson said Scholar Poole Soroptimist International of Logan presented Marin M Poole with its Violet Richardson Award which honors young women for volunteer action on Feb 21 at their monthly business luncheon Poole is an active volunteer with the Governor’s Youth Council and Phoenix AllianceShe is a Utah Truth from Youth Ambassador is on the Phoenix Alliance Youth Leadership Board and a member of the Core 100 cm the National Thith Campaign She has traveled extensively giving educational presentations oh tobacco prevention and advertising manipulation compiled smoking cessation kits for expectant mothers lobbied state and national congressmen and has planned and participated in dozens of service projects dealing with health issues Poole will now advance to the Soroptimist Rocky Mountain Region level where a $1000 Violet Richardson Award winner will be selected At that level an additional $1000 will be contributed in honor of die winner to her volunteer organization The program culminates with a $200 award to the finalist’s volunteer organization 70 Cache Seniors The Cache County Senior Citizen Center is open weekdays from 8 to 4:30 Lunch is served at noon Reservations must be made the day before by 4 pm For information or reservations call 716-719- 0 or stop by 240 N 100 East in Logan Seniors age 60 or older are invited to have lunch at the Center The suggested donation is $2meal Several of our staff are helping with the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake so we are running a “light” schedule for 2 weeks The Center will be open and meals will be served but it may take us a while to get everything else done ' ciarsM Patfoshe Snipes?
