adjourned supreme court on one occasion wayne macveagh succeeded in adjourning the supreme court before the usual hour mr mac mae iveagh never remained in washington over night it if he could help it and on thia this occasion he greatly desired to take the 4 clock train for philadel phia although talking to the court he kept his eye on the clock and at d 1 45 giving himself just enough time to reach the station he ceased his argument and said raid may it please dour our honors honor I 1 mona that the court do now adjo rn I 1 ajeh the 4 0 clock train for home the cool audacity of the request seemed to paralyze the justices but the chief justice made the customary ordet order without a protest and mr macveagh got his train
