May 1998 f I checked the Web sites that 1 had previously discovered while researching hoping that maybe one had a hint of her ” exact whereabouts No contact informa- tion but I did find the names of a few New Zealand-base- d organizations that may have information about her I searched for Web sites of those organizations and found several Students get a warm welcome south of the border May 26 1999 While skimming email from a discussion group 1 came across someone who at a glance had two things in common with Betty: she shared her last name and she lived in New Zealand Taking a chance that she might somehow be related or know of Betty I sent an email message May 27 1999 Eureka! A reply!
