Show Soccer club gets convincing win in final game of short season by Jeremy Worthen sports editor The 1996 CEU soccer club finished up it's season two weeks ago against a Snow college team that was as anxious to win a game as tliey were CEU however controlled the entire game with the only weakness showing early These weaknesses did allow Snow to score twice hut not before CEU had taken the lead The Eagles four goals all came from different people Matsuhiro Matsunaga Carlos Gonzalez Masatomo Takuyama and Wesley Lunctto all scored in the second win of tire season for a struggling CEU team Weber State 2 -- CEU 4 Previous to this game CEU held a tournament here with four teams each playing all of the CEU's first game was against others once Weber State a team that CEU has never beaten This lime however it was a totally different story with CEU taking the early lead and never looking back The final score of the game was Weber St 2- - CEU 4 All four of CEU's goals were scored by Brandon Reesor two of these came on assists from McKay Price Rangers 6 - CKIJ I The second game for CEU was against an-her club team much like themselves 11k only bright spot for CEU in the entire game w as w hen Matsunaga scored the teams only goal Price had this to say about the ganK "we should have won We just let the win over Weber get to our heads and we didn't take the Rangers seriously" Snow 3- - CEU 1 As (Ik tournament drew to a close CEU hud only to play a winless Snow College to set a new club record for wins This however seemed to he iIk tourny for the underdogs us Snow took advantage of a tiring CEU team and won easily The only CEU goal was scored by Lunctto in the first half of play ot During the recent home game sophomore forward Brandon Reesor fell prey to an untimely accident This accident came after he had scored the four goals necessary for the win over Weber State Photo by Brian Bernard Tennis team drops last two Wanna Dance?
