Flodin accepts job at ISU wu by Frank Walter Sports Editor On January 10 College of Eutem Utah’s head football coach Dill Flodin resigned to take a defensive coordinator position at Idaho State University Flodin came here in 1984 and took over the top job in 1985 In the two years he coached he compiled a record He said that he had a three year plan for the football team The first to instill confidence in the players and to gain respect in the league and the third year which would have been next year the team would have been ready to compete He felt that he accomplished the first two goals and said that the team would be much stronger next year He said "I feel that the last two years the CEU football team has gained a lot of respect from other teams in the conference and wont be taken lightly in the future" Flodin hoped that the new head coach which has not been hired would be from the intermountain west He must be an established coach and place a strong emphuis on recruiting He feels the move from CEU to Idaho state is a good step up to Division 1 football and he will be able to concentrate on just football instead of all the aspects that go with a head coaching job Flodin said "The support from the community and administration has been great and I would like to say thank you for all the great support they have given me and the fa-sta- te program" Steroids used widely by ethletes by Joel Menna of the Eagle Staff Steroids can no longer be thought of as a drug just for the power lifters or body builders but also for a lot of the football community The use of steriods is not confined to profootball players but also college and even into the high school athletic programs Athletes take steroids to build muscle and strength When taking steriods most athletes go on a 6 to 8 week cycle They gradually increase the amount of steroids they put into their bodies either through injection such as testosteren or as tablets such as danavore or An example of the increase of strength during a cycle is Tampa Bay's offensive guard Dave Coursen who weighs 285 pounds and is 6 foot L 1 He stands as one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL but it hu not always significant loss wu that of enhance the natural ability the Brian Bosworth who wu has steroids up until the middled player already taking Both college and the gros are March Another critical blow came Jeff when USC trying to cut down the use of steriods but with the drugs so resdily B regel wu also banned from available through either prescripplaying in a bowl game because of tion or the black market it is like use of steroids Are these advantages worth the trying to stop a flood with a gallon bucket risk of what happens during the use The NCAA is beginning to give of steroids after one hu
