Inventory in this section has been increased by an additional $600. in books. $2,000. spent on the purchase of paperbacks (right) for the 10 to 14-year-olds produced some surprising results. “Average circulation in that age group was 10 to 15 books per month. The month after these were delivered, 156 were checked out. That is an 1,150% increase in circulation," said Librarian Kathleen Jones. An LSCA Title I Grant covered the majority of the purchase cost. The balance was made up from a development grant and a 1992 United Way donation. Irma was born September 11, 1914 in Minersville to Heber and Alba Marshall Gillins. She married Thurman Frank Eyre June 26, 1934 in Beaver. Thurman passed away October 9, 1986. She children: has Dale five and Eyre, Minersville; Carla Gordon and Ann Eyre, Las Vegas, Irma Michaela ‘Wright, Kaycee Yardley and Monica Florence presented-a hand-tied lap quilt to Dr. Spaulding and Hospital Administrator John Gledhill. The girls are members of the 2nd Ward Merry Miss A and B classes, ‘taught by Arlene Malchus.
