| Show PUBLIC SCHOOLS WILL OPEN m LATER supt bupt skidmore announces that on an account of the lateness of the harvest season the schools of box F ader county will not open until monday september every pupil who expects to attend any school tills this year in Ws this distri t vill vi III find it to his advantage as was announced last 8 spring pring to register at the very opening even though it may be necessary for him to arrange to remain out for a definite period after that time where there ts is a real need tor for pupils to remain out teachers is are authorized and urged to group gro up assignments for five fi ve days or less so as to assist pupils who do this to make up such work in the afternoon of the third day 0 of f the ope opening lillig institute namely saturday u september 22 from I 1 to 3 P in the principals or teachers of last years etli grade class will offer their services at the high school to assist in tile the proper registration of their former pupils those first year students inho ho cannot be present personally then may arrange before beforehand liand with their former teachers to register them at that time registration will c continue n on monday september the school calendar for the year I 1 as passed upon by the board of education is sufficiently elastic to meet the needs of klingst all localities wh where e r e conditions justify it one weeks recess beginning beginning october 22 is provided for fth and ath grade and high school classes on the thursday and friday preceding this time I 1 the high school will close for two days and send its teachers to visit other high schools here also most of the ath and ath grade teachers will have a visiting day at which time their classes will not meet furthermore it if still more time must be taken out of school in order to fully cooperate compera to to meet industrial needs five additional days or less may be a k ing teach ers for special assignments to be completed by the end of the christmas vacation of course this late opening will extend the school year later in the spring but provision has already been made whereby high school students may vote to hold school on an five extra saturdays or not to close for tile the week beginning oct 22 in either case it will bring tile the closing one week earlier than june ath tile the time otherwise scheduled the grade schools will close on oil may in view of the desire of the school to adapt the school program so as to serve the people in the best possible way it is once more urged that everybody should in return urge every child to be present on the op elillia eang day |
