Nine contractors and suppliers have formed a local chapter of the National Home Improvement Council, whose purpose is to further the quality and efficiency of home improvement contracting. Chamber of Commerce Proposed for Sandy are Preliminary plans under way for a Sandy Chamber of Commerce, according to Clark Stringham, ownermanager of the Sandy MacDonald's restaurant. Creating a business identity for the Sandy area will be the proposed chambers first goal, he said. Ground work has already been laid for a 300 acre in mall and Sandy awarean feels Stringham ness of what the city has to offer must be implemented before the mall actually opens. Sandy has a proposed city center plan encompassing the mall concept, an industrial park, expanded recreational areas on the Lampton Lake reservoir to be created from damming the Jordan River, and a four year liberal arts college.
