LaVora Jensen, operating room supervisor, said the hospital was in desperate need" of additional space on the fifith floor operating room to accommodate digital heart read-ou- t monitors used for heart surgery there. At a cost of approximately $50,000, the 288 sq. ft. room will be expanded to 360 sq. feet. New equipment in the room will include a ceiling mounted digital read-ou- t screen used to monitor a patient's heart while in monitor also surgery and a console read-ou- t used for surgery'. At a breakfast two weeks ago. Joe Logan, campaign chairman, told 100 volunteers that donations have reached $2,101,838, with $679,896 of that amount having been raised in just one week. Kcnnecott Copper Corporation employees donated a record contribution of $305,000 highest amount ever received from one employee group in the history of the local campaign. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints donated $52,000; Utah Power and Light and the University of Utah, both of which have not yet completed their campaigns, reported in with $42,000 and $33,000 respectively. Einico Mining and Machinery made a donation of $25,600; Mountain State Wholesalers, a first time donation of $3,303. |
