Coach Eric Madsen stated, "I was proud of the team and the effort they put into the season. This has been the best CEU team in the last decade, if not ever." Madsen gives a lot of the credit of the team's success to the sophomores. He said, " This year's sophomores were a big help in the success we had. I'm glad they came back and I had a chance to work with them." Madsen claimed this year to be a rebuilding year for the Eagles and that they should do even better next year. The team was led in hitting by Ryan Lay, who had a .436 batting average. Lay was followed closely by Amos Bright who had a .430 average.
