He was four days old, born Aug. 7. He has been named Joshua Lane Gerber. The other Gerber children are Robyn, 6, Tigger, 4, and Adam, 2. The children are all adopted. and George Jeppson report- El-wo- Her parents, Vera and Burt Reynolds, Logan cared for them while their parents were on their trip. Mrs. Reynolds is Home Economics teacher at Sky View High School. ' Marjorie and Paul Hulling-e- r flew to Orlando, Fla., to visit her sister and husband, Audrey and Dr. Paul Harding and her folks, Jean and Cy Taylor at Fern Park. The Hullingers also visited Disney World, the beach where her sister has a home, and watched horse racing. George Kennington had as guests, Eva and William Brangham of Fort Hall, Idaho, his sister and brother-in-laon his birthday, for a roast beef dinner prepared by his wife, Jessie. A cousin, Camorah, and her husband, Reed Romney of Logan were also present. Later they all drove to Preston to visit Mrs. Romneys father and her brother, Ira Kennington and Emerson Kennington of Salt Lake City, who was visiting his father. Potluck lunch was served. Pearl and Earl Gordon, Smithfield, and their daughter, Laree McMurdie, Logan, drove to Salt Lake City Tuesday to visit her grandson and nephew, Darryl Adams at the LDS hospital. He was in an accident in Logan Canyon. Lius and Jim Van Derwer-ke- n and family, Debbie, Cindy, Mike, Joe, Ted, Paul, Julia and Joy, of Esperance, New York, drove to Smith-fiel- d to visit her brother and wife, Barbara and Harold Gutke and to enter Debbie as a senior, Cindy a junior, and Mike a freshman at BYU in Provo. Mr. Van Derwerken is a carpenter and a farmer. He is also bishop of his ward. Barbara teaches school at Hill Crest school in Logan. She relates Jim was a when he married Lois, the community was he joined the church and now has about n, 200 ed on his mission to New Zealand. Sustained was Leola and Ramona Atkinson into the Relief Society. Alice Jeppson and Lund Pehrson as Magazine representatives. Curtis Jeppson into the Sunday School Board. A cousin of Elder Curtis Jeppsons, Bill Jeppson, repotted his mission to Samoa. A special duet, violin and cello, by Curtis aunt and uncle, Lillis Jeppson Tonks and Gary Jeppson, Show Me the Way. The choir sang. Remarks were by Bishop Duaine Barker. Marjorie and Paul Hullin-ge- r and family, Karen and Warren drove to Naughton Reservoir in Wyoming to do some fishing. The reservoir is just out of Kem merer. They then drove to Union West Pine Creek, Idaho, to Swan Lake, above the Palisades Reservoir, to a family reunion. About 65 enjoyed the program, business meeting and eats. The Hullingers stayed members. Neighborhood Home Evening was held Monday evening at the home of Wilda and ' Ruel Plowman. The first five chapters of Acts were read and discussed. Refreshments were served to 10. The next meeting will be Sept. 8. Myrle and Joseph Timmins, Smithfield, and daughter and husband, Alice and John Sorenson and children Joanna and Eric, Logan, all drove to the Air Force ber 9 at 3 p.m. Renetta and Larry West and daughter Cicly of Boise, Idaho, and his parents and Lewis West of De-lo- ne Smithfield drove to Tulsa, Oklahoma to see the new granddaughter, Lisa, daughter of Diane and Arlen West. She has three brothers, Sharon, David and Robert. Arlen is the Louis Wests son. They also visited Independence, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri, where their son Larry was on a mission recently. They were gone nine days. ..Thursday, Norma and Harris Mickelson of Grace, overnight, having taken their camper and boat. Dinner1 was potluck with the ham furnished. On August 19 Myrle and Joseph Timmins attended the wedding of her niece, Dianne Linford, daughter of Myrles brother, Golden C. Linford and his wife in Rexburg, Idaho. She married a Mr. Andrew and they plan on living in Sacramento, California. The Jacob Schenk family reunion was held in the Smithfield Mack Park Sunday with Verla Noble in charge. Dinner was brought by everyone and set out and each helped themselves. For the program each family gave a number. Games were played. Present were 55. were Some Manilla, and.. Fred.Daviv Preston; Della and Darrell Reese, Ogden; Lucy and Don Wilson and daughter, Patricia of Layton, also son Michael and wife Judith Wilson and daughter Alisia also of Layton and Carol and Oral Stirland and children, Dixie and Cindy of River Heights. LuJean and Randall Nil-so- n and family Mary Lou and Troy of Smithfield and son and his wife, Jeanine and David Nilson of Salt Lake City drove to Southern Utah to Tropic to a reception for their daughter and her husband Tina and L. Dee Shakes pear. Idaho, visited friends, Elsie and Charles Hubard in Smithfield and told them of their sale of purebred cattle in Richmond, Tuesday. Visiting was enjoyed. Evelene and Eldon Moody visited his aunt, Julia Grant in Hyde Park. Looking at old pictures and visiting was done. Cookies were enjoyed. Camp was set up, hiking and swimming was enjoyed and crafts worked on by girls from the Sixth Ward MIA. The leaders were Rosemary Johnson, camp director, MIA President Marjorie Hullinger and Bette Condie and the girls were Marie and Monica Meyer, Carrie and Trudy Clark, Tina Lewis, Jerry Waters, Karen Hullinger, Jeanne Condie, Lori Johnson, Susan Humphreys and Carol Spring. Tuesday evening they put a program on for their parents who had been invited. Priesthood members came to over-se- e the camp. President Ralph Clark stayed Tuesday night and Mr. and Mrs. Verlin Humphreys Monday night. Camp was on church owned property above Porcupine Dam. They were gone three days. ' Mrs. William S. Cooper of Smithfield and daughter, Mrs. Max G. Ivie of Orem enjoyed a dutch oven supper at the home of a daughter and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Val Dean Durrant and family in Franklin. After supper they watched Franklin play in the softball tournaments in Franklin. Mrs. Ivie spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Cooper in Smithfield. Enjoying Sunday dinner with their daughter, husband and family was Myrle and Homemaking Day was held Tuesday by the Fourth Ward Relief Society will. President Eloise Meyer presiding and conducting. The lesson on Mental Health and Physical Health was given by Marie Meikle. Margaret Archibald led a discussion on the proper methods of canning fruit and allowed a film. Quilting was done and picnic baskets were made from bushel baskets also ships that were started were completed. Wall hangings were also made. A delicious luncheon was served to a nice crowd by Ann Tidwell, Lila Able, Jessie Kennington, Loa Winget, Barbara Gulke, Fern Heaps and Dixie Able. Wednesday the Seventh Ward Relieif Society held their homemaking day with Joseph Timmins. Their hosts and hostess were Linda and Merlin Gittens and children Linn, Mark, David, Helen and Chris. Pearl and Earl Gordon, Smithfield, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Dale Warren, Woodland, California; Miss Karen Gordon, Provo, Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams and family. Fielding attended the Gordon reunion held in Draper Park. Four generations of Harris got together for a family reunion at the home of Carol and Larry Harris of Logan. a In attendance were and Lamont Harris from Smithfield; Rachel and Aldon Harris from Logan; Sallie and Phil Harris from Arleta, California; Shonie and Robert Harris from Hyrum and Max Harris and guest Jean Hallmark. ' Visiting Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Udy in Fielding were Mrs. Wesley Tarbet and sons Cannon and Don and Kathy Downs of Smithfield. Ber-dett- Venna Mrs. Counselor Janet Rich, conducting. The lesson on social and emotional illness was given by Rheabell Pitcher. It was mothers and daughters day and four quilts were tied. A drawing was held and Afton Cantwell won one of the quilts and Betty Melson's daughter, Peggy, won the other and two were sold. Lunch was served to about 50 by Maud Jensen, Pat Larsen and Annette Saxton. Gerber, Smithfield, reports her brother Elder Klane Reynolds, Logan, has gone on a LDS mission to Seattle, Washington. Thursday Norma and Harris Michelson of Grace visited Elsie and Charles Hubbard and told of an auction they held in Richmond Their parents are Vera and Burt Reynolds of Logan. President Thelma Thorn-leconducted the First Ward Relief Society, Tuesday. . It was a mothers and daughters meeting. A quilt was tied by the girls and a drawing held and Miss Mary Lou Nilson, daughter of LuJean and Randall was the lucky winner. A demonstration on small footstools was given by Cindy Smith and Lori Brower. Lunch was pot luck and was served to 53 mothers and daughters. In the Fifth Ward Relief Society, Tuesday, the Homemaking meeting was conducted by Counselor Ellen Johnson. Quilting, ceramics, gingham pillowcases and salt dough plaques were worked on. Lunch was pot luck and was served to about 33. The next meeting will be September 30. Nancy Cressel conducted the Eighth Ward Relief Society mothers and daughters meeting Tuesday evening with Marilyn Taylor giving the lesson. A skit on honoring mothers of heroes was given followed by presenting of plaques made by Kathy Smith and presented to the mothers. Velvet hangers, scrubbers and dough plaques were worked on. Tables were decorated in the bicentennial theme of red, white and blue. Second Ward Homemaking Day for the Relief Soc . Nil-so- iety was conducted by Counselor Becky Smith. The lesson was given by Annette King. Leola Elwood of the Seventh Ward gave a demonstration on cake decorating. Quilting, bulletin boards, stuffed animals, macrante jewelry and macrame plant hangers were worked on. Luncheon was served to 27 by Dorothy Griffin, Billie Alliston, Mada Low, Nancy Strastman and Clea Coleman. by Margaret Archibald. Perkins family reunion was held Saturday at Willow Park in Logan with Leola and Norman Elwood, Smithfield, in charge. Each family brought their own dinner and set it out for all to help themselves. Everyone enjoyed the animals in the zoo then for the program. they went to the, home of their mother, and. grandmother, Mrs. Mary Perkins in Logan. While there Mrs. Timmins celebrated her birthday, Aug. 11. They saw points of interest on the way home. They saw the Will Rogers Shrine, attended the administrators work shop at Blue Water Beach with the Cache County administrators and school board. Wives were invited. Carol Hansen, Grace, and sons Lee and Lynn visited her grandparents, Elsie and Charles Hubbard, Smith-fiel- d. They drove to the 15th LDS Ward in Logan where Elsie and Carol sang two duets. They were accompanied by Cleone Dally, a daughter of the Hubbards. They all went to the Smith-fiel- d Park and had a picnic lunch. Cleone also had two grandsons, Scott and Gregory Jacobsen with her. Barbara and Wayne Hubbard am family, Logan, also enjoyed the festivities. Shirley and Brent Bartschi and son, Jonathan visited her parents, Marjorie and Elliott Killpack in Rancho Palos Verdes in California. A son, Rick, had flown down one week earlier. They all visited Shirleys brother and k wife, Terri and Paul and sons, J. P. and Kill-pac- Patrick. They all camped on the beach at San Clamente. Also visited Knottsberry Farm. Rick saw Marineland. At Sacrament meeting of the Seventh Ward Elder Curtis Jcppson, son of Alice Sandra and Donald Davis welcomed their first child, a boy, August 25, at the Logan hospital. They live at 119 South 455 East in Smithfield. He was six pounds nine ounces for weight and 19 inches long. He has grandparents Mrs.' Jane Davis, River Heights and Mary Ann and Orlin Allen, Brigham City. Great-grandparen- ts are Mary and Fenton Waite, Hyrum, Mrs. Ella Davis, River Heights and La Rita Beckmore, River Heights. Ther is also one Mrs. Lettie Beckmore, Logan. The little one is to be named Lee and his daddy is a carpenter for Spindle Construction Company of Logan. A new daughter has arrived to brighten the family of Annette and Cleon Chambers of 500 South 200 West, Smith-fielShe arrived at the Logan hospital, August 26, d. weighing six pounds 13 ounces and was 19 inches long. She has brothers and sisters, Lisa, 13, Denice, 12, Julie, 10, Chris, seven and Stacy, four. Grandparents Deviva and Noble Chambers and LeRay and Dorris Roskelley all of Smithfield. Her daddy is a farmer. Baby boy Heaton arrived at the Logan hospital for Karla and Jonnie Heaton of Smithfield on August 26. He weighed six pounds five ounce and was 21 '4 inches long. He has a brother Kelley, two. Grandparents are lone and Gordon Heaton and Lois and Carl Betts all of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Alden White live in Logan. He will be named Devan Heaton and daddy is a student at USU. Geoffory, 11, and Adrienne, three, welcomed a new sister August 27 in the n hospital to parents, Darlene and Dwight Anderson of 77 South 100 East, Smithfield. She weighed seven pounds six ounces and 20 inches long. She has grandparents Ruth and Harrison Miller, Brigham City; Myrtle and Cleon Anderson, Bothwell and Mrs. Ethel Romer of Brigham City. She will be named Samantha. Her daddy is foreman at Hesstnna An eight pounds 10' ounce and 21 Mt inch long baby son was bom August 26 to Janet and Terry Thurston of 475 East Center Street, Hyde Great-grandparen- ts great-grandmoth- er Park. He has Jalayne, five, and Richard, ltt, at home. Also Mrs. great-grandmoth- er Nellie Toombs, Brigham City and grandparents Wilda and C.F. Thurston, Hyde Park and Cora and Douglas Quayle of Perry. He is to be named Mark Terry Thurston and his daddy is a general engineering contractor in Hyde Park. little Jennifer Dobson arrived at 7:17 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, at the Logan hospital.
