Mamie and Corey along with Newtonian Hen- ry Sutherland and Loganite Dianna Porter, and also in the company of Leda and Debra Sutherland of Newton, attended the wedding reception for Carol Johnson and Gordon Williams, who were married Friday in the Logan LDS Temple. The party enjoyed the gala occasion at the Delta Phi Kappa house at Uth State University. Carol is the niece of Leda Sutherland and the daughter of Arlene and Earl Johnson of Smithfield. Norma and Wendell Thompson of Logan were hosts for a dinner following the ceremony. On Tuesday, Leda and Debra Sutherland of Newton, and Vonda and Christine Cheney of Brigham City, traveled to Ogden to celebrate the birthday of their sister, Betty Quayle. The part dined at the dining room of Zions Cooperative Mercantile Institution, and the remainder of the day was spent shopping. Visitors at the home of Cleo and Lewis Smith are Angelenos Dixie Lou, Morris and Melissa Poole, who will be in Cache Valley several weeks with friends and family. Mark Rigby, son of Arlene and Murray Rigby, has accepted an LDS mission assignment in Australia, and he will depart in February for the antipodes. Congratulations and good luck, Mark! Edris Hanson flew to California on Saturday morning, to spend Christmas with her daughter Carma and her hus-- : band and family. Edris husband Sid will leave on Boxing Day to join the group in California. In LDS church services December 16, with Bishop Benson conducting the worship, Lila Cooley sang a vocal selection, accompanied by Faye Griffin. A medley of Christmas carols was performed by Floyd Salisbury at the organ. Scott Shelton of Mendon, who has recently come home from a church mission to England, delivered the sermon, which significantly increased the spiritual awareness of the congregation. i The Newton LDS Ward will hold their annual Santa Claus program tonight at seven o- clock. Adults are welcome, traditionally, but St. Nicholas will also give a bag of goodies to all children of the town under twelve years of age. Marvel Cooley is out of towrn visiting her daughter Ruth, and Ruths family, for the Yule season. Her husband Marcus will join her subsequently.
