Legion Auxiliary Installs New Officers By Laree Bodily t The Lewiston American Legion Auxiliary met Wednesday evening to install new officers. new Marilyn Creger is the president; Carole Litz, first vice president; Diane Jorgensen,' second vice president, and Wilma Wilson, secretary. The retiring officers are Koa Jean Wiser, president; Wilma Wilson, first vice president; Carole Litz, second vice president, and Bea Boman, secretary. Giving reports of their attendance at Girls State were three of the four girls who were sponsored by the Lewiston Auxiliary. They were Wendy Andersen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Andersen of North Logan, formerly of Lewiston; Denise Litz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zan Litz, and Bobbie Jean Alvey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Alvey, all of Lewiston. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Morrison visited with their daughters and their families, and with other relatives, in Salt Lake City Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dur-rawere the speakers in Lewiston Second ward sacrament meeting Sunday evening. They gave a very interesting account of their recent missionary work in the Cumorah of Covina, Calif., visit with them for a few hours Sunday. Dale daughter to Utah to enroll at the University 'of Utah. The Wade family recently returned from a year spent in Spain, where Mr. returned three weeks ago from the Italian LDS mission and has now enrolled at Brigham Young University. Dale brought a pie of friends with him. Wade went on a Fullbright scholarship. While here, Mrs. Wade accompanied Mrs. Hyer to the Salt Lake International Airport to meet their cousin and nephew, Mr. Keith Schofield, and family, who have just returned from 'Equador. Mr, Schofield was in the diplomatic service. He will now be assigned in Washington, D.C. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Van Orden spent a few days last week visiting with his daughter, Elaine, and her family, the Bob Bartons. The Bartons and their two children live at the Diamond A Ranch near Rogerson, Ida. Their son attends a school 20 miles from their home and the family attends church 80 miles away. Claire Jorgenson, commander of the Lewiston American The family of Mrs. VaLeria Hyer and the late Ira Hyer met together recently at the Lewiston Recreation park for dinner and sociability. Dan and Ira Lu Stoddard attended from Colorado Springs, Colo., as did Andrew and Marilyn Hyer and family, Logan; Mr. and Mrs. Clair Cornish and family, Cove; and Bob and Rosalie Haney and family, Larry and Colleen Hyer and family, and Mr. Merle G. Hyer, an uncle, all of Lewiston. Mrs. Hyer received phone calls from Sheridan and Annette Hansen, Burley, Ida., and Wen- dell and Constance one-roo- Hyer, ,Homedale, Ida., who were unable to attend the party where 53 were in attendance. Mrs.' Sam Gordon, Brigham City, and Mr. and Mrs. Golden Leavitt and family, Nyssa, Oregon, were recent guests of Mrs. VaLeria Hyer. Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Hyer have received word that a new son arrived on Sept. 17 for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Sandin) Hyer, who live in Glendale, Calif. There are two other boys and a girl in their family. Kenneth is Mr. and Mrs. William Van employed by Winthrop Pharmaceutical Company. Dyke and children of Logan spent Sunday with the Don Van Mrs. Glen (LaRae) Wade Dyke family. visited last week with her aunt Verden and Christine Dent and uncle, the D. D. Hyers, and children were happy to from her home in Santa Barhave her brother, Dale Boman bara, Calif. She brought her day, Brent Munk and Robert Hoffman were sustained as teachers in the Sunday School, Sherry Schenavar as organist, and Robert Seamons as music director. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ellerman and daughter, Laurie, of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ellerman.
