Show THE 2 THURSDAY, CITIZEN AUGUST 10, 1972 Utah Reception Fetes Newlyweds The LDS Church at Brighton, Ut., was the scene of the recent wedding of Patricia Hollands and Dr. John Keith Larson. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Hollands of Salt Lake City and a granddaughter of Francis H. Baugh Jr., of Logan. She attended University of Utah, where she affiliated with Delta Delta Delta. PATRICIA The groom is the son of Mrs. Idella Larson and the late Keith P. Larson of Preston. He graduated from Utah State University, where he affiliated with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Blue Key, and Alpha Epsilon Delta, honor medical fraternity. He received his medical degree from the University of Utah and is presently a resident at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City. HOLLANDS Politically Speaking A rehearsal dinner was held at Quail Run in Salt Lake. Attending the bride and groom were Craig Larson as best man and Kristen Larson as maid of honor. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph N. Warenski of Salt Lake City, parents of the groom, were hosts for the wedding luncheon following the ceremony. That evening the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ariel W. Meek, honored the couple at a reception held in the Preston h ward cultural hall. The bride's dress was an original, of French lace and satin, designed and fashioned for her by Hong-Shin- g tailors of Hong Kong. Her chapel length veil flowed from a headpiece of lace and pearls, and edged in matching lace. She carried a bouquet of white orchids, ivy and varigated green leaves. Mrs. Vaughn Hinck, a sister, was matron of honor with Mrs. Stephen A. Meek, sister-in-laand Mrs. Douglas Larsen as other attendents. They wore matching dresses of green and white floral print, and carried bouquets of varigated green leaves. Best man was Douglas Compton, and Stephen A. Meek and Richard Dunn acted as ushers. Also greeting guests were Sheryl's grandparents, Mr. B. A. Meek of Riverdale and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin C. Swensen of Nyssa, Ore. The Swensens were celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary. They were married July 12, 1909 in the Logan LDS Temple. Sheryl is their 17th grandchild. The wedding cake was in the shape of a bell and ' was suspended from a stand covered with fern and spider mums, with miniature lights woven throughout the greens. Mrs. Sherwin Webb acted as hostess, with Miss Cathy Brown presiding over the buffet table and Mrs. Burke Burns presiding over the punch bowl. Slush was served to the guests at the tables by Miss Julie Meek and Mrs. Judy Coor. Miss Colleen Meek, Miss Shirlecn Meek, Miss Kristen Meek, cousins, and Miss Kaylin Smith assisted with the serving. Mrs. John Donvan was at the registration table, where pictures of the bride and groom at various ages of their lives were displayed. The hall was decorated throughout with spider mums, ivy and varigated colored greens. After a honeymoon in southern Utah, the couple was further honored at an open house July 20 held in the garden of the grooms parents. The couple is now at home at 3480 South 3rd East, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Gilbert attended the Thomas Tolman A week ago Saturday, Gerald Nelson and Clinton Nelson, both of Pocatello, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nelson of Blackfoot and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nelson of Ogden visited with Mrs. Sadie Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bastion and daughter Ann of Seattle visited recently over the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Bastion. They were enroule to Morgantown, Va., where they will reside for a year. reunion July 14 and 15. Mrs. Gilberts mother was a Tolman and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Judson A. Tolman Jr., and family were from Preston. They lived next door to the now abandoned Sixth ward church. The family members assembled at the Ogden Temple for a session Friday evening after which they gathered at the Fourth- - 57th ward chapel on Jefferson for a family business meeting. On Saturday they gathered, about 800 in number, at the LDS Chapel in Roy, Ut. A fair was set up in the Relief Society room with all kinds of handwork, sewing, quilts, paintings, music, etc., candi- presented. Card Gilberts com- position, written for the Frank Gilberts golden wedding, Our Golden Years, took third prize in the music department. The Mormon Miracle was presented in the morning by Brigget Berry, who was blind and is a former BYU teacher. In the afternoon a musical contest was held. Prizes were presented to participants.
