Show IB June THE CITIZEN 18, 1970 Winder Girl And Brother Visit Relatives In Texas WINDER Mies Linda Stocks and her brother Steph-- n left by plane from Salt Lake for Dallas, Tex., where they plan to visit Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Olsen. Gene Bennett and Miss Linda Stocks are home from school. Both Gene and Linda will be seniors beginning next fall. A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dalle n Rasmussen in Provo. The baby is a great grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Talbot. Mr. Rasmussen is attending BYU. Mrs. Aggie Cutler, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Williams and sons, Ricky and Chad, of Soda Springs visited Memorial Day with Mr. and Mrs. William Swainston. The afternoon was spent in Whitney at the Dailey reunion. Lewis Johnson of Boise was here last week to pay respects on Memorial Day. lie also visited relatives and friends in Winder and Preston. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell K. Loosle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Goodwin and children and Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Payne and family spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs, Harold Swainston. Bishop and Mrs. Floyd Ben nett were guests at a recital of piano students of Mrs. Carolyn Crawford in Richmond. Mrs. Crawford asked her sister, Mrs. Launa Vaterlaus, and a brother, Gene Bennett, to sing as part of the program. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Talbot spent a day of last week with Lee Talbot. Mrs. Helen Beuhler was in Salt Lake Thursday to visit her husband Norman, who recently had surgery. He is in the Veterans Hospital. Kendall Rodney Balls from Vietnam. They hadnt heard from him for a few months and letters also arrived from him. Last Wednesday callers at the A. II. Bowden home were their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Johnson of Ogden. ' Mr. and Mrs. Dan Cahoon had their daughter, Mrs. Phillips of Idaho Falls, visiting them from last Friday to Monday of this week. The Veldon Martin family were In Pocatello last Friday on business. Miss Lawana Griffiths took her grandmother, Mrs. A1 bertie Griffiths and son dette to attend the Treasure ton ward reunion on June 6 Sunday they went for a drive to Treasureton, down along the west side of the valley to Fairview and then home. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Balls had their three granddaughters visiting them last week. They are Cindy, Brenda and Lynette, daughters of Mr and Mrs. Wayne Fagg of Dra per. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Griffiths and Mrs. Zelma Barfus of Preston and Craig Greene of Denver went to Ogden on June 7, and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Housley and children and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Westmoreland and new baby. Then last Wednesday Mrs. Griffiths took Craig Greene to Logan where he met a group of young people from Denver who were making a tour of the Logan temple, and he returned to Denver with them. Mrs. Claude C. Howell was in Salt Lake City Friday with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. William Hollingsworth of Preston. Cindy Hollingsworth had surgery that morning in the LDS hospital. She is recovering satisfactorily. Mrs. D. J. Griffiths and Mrs. Gloria Nelson were in Logan last Thursday on busBur- iness. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hyer of Lewiston came last Thursday and spent the day with his sister, Mrs. Annie II. Kemp at the Walter Beutler home. Phyllis Davis of Franklin visited Friday and Saturday with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Seamons. The Edward Winward family of Orem, Utah, visited from Friday to Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beutler. Mr. and Mrs. Marlow II. Holds Reunion Treasureton ward reunion was held Saturday at the church house. Many former residents attended. Lucius Clark, former school teacher in Treasureton, was an honored guest. Mrs. Clark and daughter Verla were also guests. The Clarks are from Ririe. A dutch oven chicken dinner was enjoyed by the group. The program consisted of a welcome address by Bishop Don Barger. Songs were by the Primary children and a song by Janet Lyon, accompanied by Peggy Lyon, vocal solo by Mrs. Leone Kirby, accompanied by Peggy Lyon, vocal duet by Sandra and Roxanne Hansen of Mink Creek, and a group song by the Don Barger family. A Smart had their little granddaughter, Teressa Smart of Pocatello with them last weekend. Her parents . are Mr. and Mrs. Steven Smart. Mr. and Mrs. Shell Raymond of Kaysville were last Tuesday overnight guests of her sister and brother-in-laBergeson. and son Travis, were in Dillon, Mont, last Wednesday and Thursday on business. The Theo Murdocks were in Ogden last Wednesday visiting with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Hill. The Day - Tons - Aweight (TOPS) met last Thursday evening in the ward cultural hall for a meeting. Mrs. Anna Hurst and Mrs. Elmira Baird of Mink Creek were present and talked on weight problems. Mrs. Hurst also spoke on her being chosen the state runner-u- p for TOPS queen. Present at the meeting were Barbara Smart, Verda Jensen, Patsy Beutler, Lesetta Vivian Schvaneveldt, Eck, Joyce Williams, Naomi and Anna Schwartz. e Mr. and Mrs. Earl had as guests June 6 Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schvaneveldt of Whitney and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kirkbride of Franklin and their children. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Kirkbride went to Layton over the weekend to visit with Dr. and Mrs. Richard Winward and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Nelson and family attended a family get together in Salt Lake City June 5 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Keech. They were overnight guests there. Saturday they enjoyed dinner and went swimming. There were 23 present. It was hld at the Heber Olson home. Three of the family were not able to attend. Mrs. Annie Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Fisher of Oxford attended and enjoyed the day. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Hatch and sons, Richard and Larry, brought his mother, Lavona Hatch, home Friday and returned home to Ogden Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hatch and grandson Garth drove to Pocatello Sunday evening to visit their son, Mr. and Mrs. Claire Hatch and daughter Michelle. Swann and children, Brent, Belinda, and baby Jennifer, of Mesa, Ariz., were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Glenn Swann of Preston last week. They arrived June 7 and later in the day Alma and Verla Swann and children Kirtley and Denise of Ogden, Lyle Swann, Ray and Glenda Gardner and seven children, and a friend, Shirley Hess, all of Farmington, and Neal and Cheryl Swann and three children of Preston joined them at the Glenn Swann home for dinner and visiting. Seth, Wendy and baby Jennifer left for their home Friday where he is on the teaching staff of the Westwood Junior high school Their older children, Brent and Belinda, and Kevin Gardner, son of the Ray Gardners of Farmington, will spend part of the summer with their grandparents. Edward Swann of Provo came Saturday morning to spend a couple of days with his mons of Pocatello, Friday to visit her brother and family. Merlin Hatch and son Lance of Ogden visited his mother, Mrs. Annie Hatch, Monday evening to Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Croshaw of Mountain View, Calif., and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Croshaw of Ogden, and the sisters, Lavona and Henry Hatch of Oxford and Mrs. Virgil Geddes of Banida, got together at the family home with Mrs. Annie Hatch on June 25 and had dinner, visited and took pictures. Fred and Eva spent the night with Virgil in Banida and Tuesday she took them to Arimo to visit Evas family. Earl Hatch and children of Richfield visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hatch, over the Memorial weekend. Garth is staying with his grandparents for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bros-sar- d of Salt Lake visited Mrs. Cecil Fisher on May 29. On Memorial Day, visitors at the Cecil Fisher home were Mrs. Bessie Short and children, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Short, Judy, and Robert Short, Carol and Ed Madsen and children and Betty and Reed Gentsen of Salt Lake City, Lucille and Ken Franzen of Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. George Christensen of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fisher and family of Pocatello, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carlson of Ilyrum. Earl Hatch and children returned to Richfield June 1. Ilis mother, Lavona Hatch, went as far as Ogden to spend a few days with her son Duane and family and help care for the new baby boy that arrived May 29. Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher received word of the arrival of a new great grandson. Hie parents are LaMar and Deloris Perkins of Ogden. Games were played by the young people and the rest of the day was spent by visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams and family of Salt Lake City and Jerry Williams and daughters, Rosalie and Margaret, of Hurricane, Ut, ited Monday at the home of Mrs. Wanda Hess and family. Memorial Day guests at the home of Mrs. Wanda Hess were Mrs. Edith Casteel of Pocatello and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Halverson and boys of Idaho Falls. Mrs. Halverson is the former Shannon Casteel. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Paskins attended the commencement exercises held at Weber State College Saturday ' morning. Kent Paskins was among the graduates. Mr. and Mrs. Bart Paskins and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Paskins and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Paskins enjoyed a picnic dinner at the Ogden park Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Paskins were overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Paskins Friday night. at sacrament Speakers meeting Sunday night were Bruce Hymas and Jack Johnson. Bruce told about his experiences on his tour with the Freedom Singers. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Paskins drove to Soda Springs Sunday. They visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Andreasen. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Denton of Salt Lake City visited a few days during the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Denton and family. Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Denton had a special dinner for David Denton while he was home on leave. Mike Purser of Hyde Park was a guest. ' Miss Rozanne Workman spent a week in the Logan hospital after suffering from an eye injury. Mrs. Rhoda Workman spent the days with her granddaughter, who needed someone with her during the days. Mr. and Mrs. Don Workman went to Logan on Wednesday and brought Rozanne home. Mr. and Mrs. Don Workman and son Todd spent a week in Salt Lake City where Todd underwent tretament at the Primary Children Hospital and LDS hospital prior to his operation Saturday. The Workmans returned home after the operation and Todd is recuperating in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Marve Packer and family visited Sunday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Myrl Workman. Vera Atkinson is Mrs. spending a few days in Ogden at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orson Sant while recuperating after an illness. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Loh of Ogden and Don Hornell of England visitetd Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Paskins. Mr. Hornell is an architect for the church in England.
