Q. Can a landlord require a person to rent or purchase furniture, where it was not his established practice before the freeze? A. No. Any practice which constitutes a means to obtain a higher rent than is permitted under the freeze is prohibited. Q. I will be retiring shortly after 25 years of service and will be eligible for increased pension benefits. Can I still receive the benefits? fits, the employees will be treated as though the freeze had not occurred. In your case, you may receive any increment upon retirement even if the completion of 25 years employment occurs after August 15. Q. Is military pay subject to the freeze? A. However, exceptions have been granted for pay for personnel in the combat zone or missing in action, prisoners of war and hospitalized war sic. Canyonlands Park Gains 80,000 Acres The United States Senate approved a bill which adds nearly 80,000 acres of land to Utahs Canyonlands National Park. The Senate request of the bills sponsor, Senator Frank Moss, accepted five House amendments to the bill. The bill increases the size of the park to 337,258 acres and adds to it such new attractions as Horseshoe and Lavender canyons. The spectacular area adds 17,175 acres immediately north of the present area, which are regarded as particularly important to the parks administration and development. The world might be a great better if some people were not so anxious to prevent anyone else from succeeding. Stars Traded al 6-- Emanuel Manny Leaks has Chaparrals. It will dry almost anything you can wash safely, softly and automatically. This series has been prepared to tell you a few of the little ideas our home economists have learned a result of experience and testing through the years. 1 -- Knitted Synthetic Sweaters Knitted nylon, polyester, acrylic and other synthetic fiber sweaters, pants, dresses, coats or jackets, dry soft, fast and fluffy, in your electric dryer. Preheat dryer for several minutes, then place several bath towels inside to cushion tumbling action. Remove sweaters as soon as drying action stops. For wrinkle-fre- e results, do not over-dr- y. 2-N- ylon and Nylon-Cotto- n Jackets and Snow Suits Place garment in electric dryer for about 10 min- - Youre in control with an Electric Dryer utes. Then remove, turn inside out, and replace for another 10 minutes. Remove and hang on nonrust hanger to finish airdrying. Dacron base snow-sui- ts and jackets may be dried in a similar manner. 3-Br- or Rag Rugs aided These quaint, old fashioned rugs are always in style. And theyll tumble flat and smooth in your electric dryer. Two small rugs or one medium size rug usually make up one dryer load. TIDBIT OF THE WEEK If you dont already have one, youll find a simple mesh bag very handy for drying small items such as hose, shoelaces, gloves, etc. You can buy a mesh bag for very little or make one yourself.
