American Fork, has been named Utah State Champion in the 14th annual 304 Bushel Challenge corn growing contest. Their winning yield of 87.64 bushels per acre was made with Funks More than 833 Chapters from all sections of the nation entered the 1970 contest. The Chapters 1970 304 Bushel Challenge project was carried out by one student under the supervision of Robert Gappmeyer. Chapter Advisor. The 304 Bushel Challenge was started in 1956, after Lamar Rat-li- f of Frentiss County, Mississippi, had in 1955, established a world record yield of 304.3? bushels of weighed corn from a measured acre.
