Dr. Charles R. Smart, Salt Lake City, President of the Utah Division of the American Cancer Society, pointed out that the traditionally lower lung cancer rate for women has been climbing. He quoted the leaflet statement: The risk of death from lung cancer for women who are heavy cigarette smokers is five times that of the women. The leaflet, the first on cigarettes issued just for women by the society, explodes the myth that lung cancer is reserved for men.
