Brinton, President of Summit County Farm Bureau and Mrs. Cumorah J. Brinton, Womans chairman, were in Los Angeles this week attending the American Farm Bureau Federation convention. County members were a part of the 9000 to 10,000 who attended from all over UJS. Farm Bureau is a general farm organization 2,175,780 strong and has increased in number each year for many years even though the total number of farmers in America has been decreasing until only about 5 are left. The theme of the convention was Your Voice for Free Choice. The group attending the convention heard Governor Ronald Reagon, Frank Fitzsimmons and others speak out on signif Mil emtio icant issues relating to agriculture and our economy. Governor Reagon said, "Californias farmers raise foods for most of the United States. We are intensely agricultural and I think of this small segment of our economy as the backbone of our country. Mr. Fitzsimmons, President of International Brotherhood of Teamsters said, '"The lettuce WASATCH boycotting instigated by the United Farm Workers, to bring the growers to terms, was in reality a fight between unions as 80 of the workers belonged to the Teamsters Union.
