Show THE SUMMIT COUNTY BEE 9 South Summit Marching Band Upton flews Performs at Mr. and Mrs. Whit Myers of Tooele spentSaturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Jacobson. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Blon-quwere, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Blonquist and family of Bountiful, and Mr. and Mrs. -SS- BVU HS-(Dugway Game) Our Cats played a hard game last Friday but the Mustangs beat 6. Marion made our first touchdown. We also had another touchdown but it was called back because of a penalty. Offsides. The mistakes really hurt us but we know the Cats will be ready to wipe out those 7-- Braves. Our drill team will also be performing at. half time. So let's have everyone out to sup- port them. -S-SHS-Our had a Home Management class great tour of the Hotel Utah. Seventeen Senior girls attended. They arrived at the Hotel Utah at 10:15 and started on their tour at 10:30. Their tour included such things as the kitchen, laundry, the guest rooms, bridal suite, the Golden Room and the Jade Room, the Sky Room, all of the ballrooms the executive offices, and the Kiwanis and Rotary Club of- fices. -S- SHS-The South Summit Marching Band. perform ed attheBYU Homecoming. There were bands from all over the state performing. They played such numbers as "Get Back", "Son of a Preacher Man", Tea for Two" and "Get It Together". The band has done this for quite a few years and really enjoy it. Approximately 51 members were present to represent our School. -5-SHS-A performance of Ballet West was enjoyed at South Summit Monday, Oct. 6 in the auditorium. -S- SHS Homecoming Thursday, Oct. 26 when they will show you many interesting things? Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jones with their families were Mr. and Mrs. Faye Boyer, Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Wardean Morby Mrs. Lerene Billings, all of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Merriel Orgill, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Shaw, of Coalville. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jones had their daughter, Kay Leen home for the weekend, also Sherry Robinson of Coalville. They are both students at Dixie -S- SHS-We -S- SHS-Let's everyone be careful during the deer hunt 'cause we want to see you all back to school on Tuesday. Thursday, October 19, Legion ladies JOLEAN GINES Kamas Miss Will Ved in November Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Gines announce the engagement of their daughter, Jolean to Wil- liam Thomas Terry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Terry of Pay-so- n, Utah. They will be married November 17 in the Salt Lake Temple. The bride is a graduate of Dixie College, receiving an Associate degree. She also attended the BYU.She is now employed at PacificStates Pipe Co. The future bridegroom was a graduate from BYU, Class 'of '72 with a degree in Design and Computer Graphics. He is now employed at Engineering Associates in Salt Lake. He has filled an LDS mission in North- ern California. They plan to make their home in Orem. College. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jacob-so- n visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walsh of Murray, Friday evening. They enjoyed dinner at the Hawaiian. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Newton and family, of Ogden and Sherry's brother, Wayne Buhler visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Gene Newton. Fern Boyer, of Ogden and Lerene Billings, Salt Lake City visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jones. Weekend visitors at the home of Gene and Edna Newton were Mr. and Mrs. Doug Newton and family of Salt Lake City. Doug and Louise's new little baby was blessed on the first of October and given the name of "Tina Louise Hear Girls' State Reports American Legion Auxiliary 93 held their regular Unit meeting at the City Hall Oct. 12. President Roberta Warner conducted the meeting and welcomed all the members and guests. Girls State reports were given by the following girls: DeAnn Geary, Lori Thiriot, Teena Judd, Reeda Warner and Heidi Williams. This was very informative and interesting to hear the girls report and to hear them sing their Girls State song. Helen Thiriot showed slides of Girls State. Story of the flag was given by Reeda Warner. Refreshments were served. Cookies were sent to the Veteran's Hospital in September, donated by Hazel Ball, Afton Blonquist, La Rue Bo wen, Louise Bowen, Wanda Bristow, Sally Bristow, May belle Bullock and Edna Clark.
