Show Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cooley accompanied MorlinandLaReta Van Tassell to Salt Lake Friday where they did some shopping. In the evening they all met at the home of Bud and Rozella Atkinson where all of their family met to honor Pearl on her birthday. They all had a fun time together and Pearl received many nice gifts and remembrances. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Farley and children visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Hardman. They brought their niece and nephew Billie and Regina Hardman to Woodland with them for a visit with their grandparents. Saturday the children's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hardman came to spend the weekend and take them home on Sunday. The WootUandWardheldtheir awards banquet Saturday night. A large crowd was in attendance as most of the young people in the Ward received their in- dividual awards. The youth and their parents were all special guests and were served a delicious turkey dinner. The tables were decorated around a fall theme and the dinner and goodies were prepared by Eva Gines, LaRetta Hardman, Mr. and Mrs. DeLoy Winterton and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kokohnen. A program was presented: vocal solo by Mrs. Vickie Argyle and Mr. Charles Rolphe sang and played his guitar. Thomas E. Brown was the speaker for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Carlile Knight and Jerold were weekend guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Knight. They are living in Smithfield now and are enjoying their new home there. Mrs. Everett Moon was in Salt Lake City last week to receive medical assistance. Mr. and Mrs. Robert McGregor shopped in Salt Lake a day last week. They are presently working on the building they have purchased to remodel for her new art studio. They have bought the building where the Sweeney locker plant used to be and will open the new studio in the early spring. Mr. and Mrs. EUsworth Gines went to Salt Lake last Tuesday to meet their daughter Sharon Berg and three children of Lawndale, Calif., at the airport. Sharon's husband Russ has a building contract in the east and will be back there most of the winter, so Sharon and children will stay at the home of her parents while Russ is gone. Russ will joinSharon here for a few days during the deer hunt and then go to his job in the East. A new Rodney family, Mr. and Mrs. Maxfield have moved Verla Bichins Pace Is Dead at Age 58 WANSHIP Mrs. Verla Richins Pace, 58, of Wanship, died Oct. 12 at her home. Mrs. Pace was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Salt Lake City, a daugh- ter of George R. and Myrtle -- Ralph Richins. She was married to Harvey Edwin Pace on Aug. 15, 1932, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a graduate of North Summit High School and was into the Carlile Knight home. She was a member of the Wanship LDS Ward where she sensed as Primary and Relief Society counselor and Ward organist. She was Summit Stake organist for 42 years, and had been chorister and MIA secretary. She had been a member of the Pat's Irish Five Orchestra. Surviving are her husband of Wanship; one daughter and one son, H. Dean Pace, Morgan; Mrs. Vic (RaNae) Judd, Kankakee, HI.; one nephew October 19, 1972 Thursday, reared, LaGrande serving in the LDS whom she Richins, Cumorah Mission; six grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Fay Richins, Wanship; Mrs. Reuben (Fern) Clark, Ogden. She is still very ill and needs much care. Mrs. Edith Carlile spent Friday afternoon at the home of her son, John and family. Lois and John brought her home on Friday evening, and when they arrived home she found that she had no electricity. On investigation by the Power Company they found that someone had gone out to go fly a kite and their kite had become lodged in the electric wires cutting off the power to the house. Thanks to the employees of the Power Company their electricity was soon restored.
