Show ICamas News Mr. and. Mrs. Dan Wilde and Junior Crandall and his three children, had a family dinner Sunday at Keith and Bernice McCormicks. Ned and Gliane Prescott gave a going away dinner for Walt and LaVern Prescott who will be going to Kent, Washington for the winter.' Also at the dinner were Keith and Barbara Prescott and Kent and Ann Sweeney. Madeline Fitzgerald is put of the hospital now and is home. Her son and daughter have been here visiting with her. Her daughter Barbara Homes is staying with her. Fred and Sue OBrien were here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. . Gibbons. The OBriens are from Pocatello and stayed for the weekend. Arnold Crystal and party went to Nebo for the elk hunt. They were gone for the weekend. The hunt was well worth while for Arnold who got a nice three point. President Huntsman and wife Ruth, president of the Indian Springs LDS Church were here Friday visiting and having dinner with Bill and Mary Sweeney. Linda Black Russell and a girl friend, were visiting for two days with her parents, Dean and Shirley Black. She lives in San Pablo, California. Lindas husband is in the Army and is stationed in San Pablo. Doug and Tean Simpson have gone to New Orleans on a business trip, dealing with Farm Glen with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walker. They are attending Snow College at Ephraim. Mrs. Carolynn Atkinson and daughter Melissa of Salt Lake have been visiting with their family, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Atkinson for the weekend. Wednesday night, September 11, Nick Hoyt wrecked his car when he hit a cow standing in the middle of the road. No one was injured. Brother Glad and Brother Staley were the speakers for the Rhodes Valley Ward on Oct- ober 14. Bryon Rasmussen, a former Seminary teacher in Kamas, and his wife were the speakers at Sacrament Meeting in the Kamas Ward October 14 under the direction of the Stake High Council. Brother Rasmussen and his wife have spent the past three years in Samoa where he has been head of the religion department of the church high school there. They are now living in Sunset and he is teaching in Clearfield. Dorothy Wagstaff will leave November 11 to enter the mis- -. sion home prior to her departure for the North Argentine mission. She will first attend BYU Language Training Mission. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Davis attended their cousins wedding Saturday night at the residence of Rex and Gig Davis in Midway. Patricia Henely married Wayne Goff. After the ceremony the bride and grooms fathers took the wedding party to the Silver King in Park City for a very nice dinner. There were 27 guests last Sunday, Vic Johnson and Lu and Jean Lund, Salt Lake City. Bob and Georgia Bates have bought a home in Francis from Bobby and Verla Piercy. Alvin and Mary Lou Gines have been up helping them paint their new home. Wendell and Polly Mitchell have their two grandsons Gary and Shayne Davis for a weeks people present. stay. Terry Atkinson, Scoutmaster took his Boy Scouts to Heber City Thursday for an activity nignTof bowling. Lorin Prescott has been in the Summit County Hospital for two weeks. Bradshaw, of Emmett, Idaho were in town Friday visiting for the day. He was a former Bishop of Francis. The first week end at White Rock and the second at Nephi. Their luck wasnt too good. A lovely time was had by the Francis Relief Society on their work day. A lesson was given by Dixie Thompson and the New Mothers lesson was given by Elda Bates afterwhich the women worked on wreaths. A lunch was served and a large group of ladies attended. Kay and Re-Ele- ct BOB CLYDE to the UTAH STATE SENATE Duane and Thelma Wilde had Home Administration. Reed and Laraine Frantz at- tended her sister, Julie Thernings reception, Sunday held in Orem. Julie married Jerry Christensen and will be living in Orem. Duane and Joan Marchant of Centerville and their four daughters came for a weekend visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Reed Marchant. Carol Ann Thomas and Janice Crystal were hostesses of a toy party Thursday night, at the home of Carol Ann. Jane Maxwell has been in the Holy Cross hospital. She is home now and is doing fine. Verl Fowles is home from the hospital. He is still under doctors care, but is doing fine. The Blazzar briefing for the Blazzer A boys and parents was held last week. Lorene McNeil is the teacher. The two year program was explained and information was presented about the new scouting program. Refreshments were enjoyed. Brent, Peggy and Bret Wilde visited their family, Bob and Barbara Hoyt on Peggys sister and brothers birthdays. The birthday of Tracey on Oct. 12 and Brents the 11th. Happy birthday to both of them. The Kamas Ward Relief Society is getting 'ready for the bazaar. They are making quilts articles for November 11. They also have started the New Mother Training class. and different LaRetta Van Tassell is the teacher. Born to Lambert andMirlynn Lewis, a daughter, weighing 5 lbs. 15 oz. She was born September 6. Her name is Janet Lewis. She was born at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. There is one other little girl in the family. Her grandparents are, Mrs. Roscoe Andrus and Mr. Emery Lewis and great grandparents are Mrs. Joseph B. Andrus and Mr. D. H. Rex. Barry and Garry Walker were home for the weekend, visiting and his U. P. shop mates are building 750 freight cars, and thats not the half of it. Vic Hoffman The 750 cars that Vic Hoffman is working on in Portland are actually less than a third of it, "it" being our total order for rolling stock this year. If Vic Hoffman hooked the cars hes building onto all the others we're buying, the "train" would be 23 miles long. It would have 100 new locomotives, 2,287 freight cars, loaded with accessories. Our total sticker price ran into the millions, which we pay so much down and so much a month. We hope to get the money back by hauling things for people. So if you have anything that needs hauling, we can handle it. i |
