Peace did not come with President Hoover's aid to a starving Russia in the 20s. The peaceful trade of nitrocellulose in 1930 and aid and trade since then did bring ultimate peace to the 50.000 Americans who were killed in Vietnam. The resignation was prompted by the fact that after Judge Puett had set bail at $5000.00 on four persons arrested by local police for selling a controlled substance (marihuana), the District Judge, Judge Beebe, had turned them loose on their own recognizance, without any bail. J udge Beebe's decision was given on Thursday. September 13, and the follow ing evening at 6:00 P. M., J udge Puette gave a statement over KSRA Radio, evidently listened to by the entire populace, as it seemed the whole county was suddenly alive with anger at the action of Judge Beebe, well known for leniency in regard to the criminal element. The Monday morning meetings on the court house steps was M.C.'d by Dale Smith, local radio announcer, who was present with amplifier, so that all speakers could be heard. Judge Beebe was invited to explain his action, and evidently it was not well received by the listeners. The mood of the local citizens could hardly have been called friendly to Judge Beebe: w hile on the other hand there were many manifestations of support for Judge Puett. Many signs and placards proclaimed the desire of local citizens for law and order, and invitations for Judge Puett to stay on the job. 7 he entire Senior Class of the Salmon High School, in addition to most of the other high school students and some teachers, in company with their Principal, Mr. George Artemis, arrived at the Court House amid the cheers and applause of adults already on the scene. There are those who contend that such things as the dope problem are a natural manifestation of the decay of the American Republic. This is not the case. These things are symptoms of Communist Conquest of the United States. Not long ago President Nixon w ent to China to discuss trade with Red China. What else does Red China have to trade but heroin? Many thousands of acres of poppies are grown in Red China. They consider it their cash crop, and much of it is sold in the United States. J. Edgar Hoover, former Chief of the F.B.I., reported that large quantities of it were coming into this country under diplomatic in the pouches of immunity official diplomatic representatives from Red China. President Nixon's visit w ill result in the setting up of diplomatic trade offices in every large city in the United States, and the probable importation of a flood of heroin into this country. . Shall we condone this sell-oby our own President to trade the souls of American children for the ut very dubious privilege of trading" (giving away) our agricultural and to the manufactured goods Communists? Readers have probably noticed that we have been deluged with propaganda to legalize the sale and How use of marihuana. it make convenient! Belmont. months ago that Mass., some none other than our own Senator Frank Church was one of the dignitaries who met in Hawaii, previous to President Nixon's visit, with diplomats from Red China, to make arrangements for the visit of the President. Why? Would he have been sent on this mission if he were not in agreement with what was being done? Would he not have been thoroughly briefed by the President on just what the plans were? Americans must wake up. Even though these affairs arc smoothed over as mere political blunders, there is much evidence that points to the fact that these are well moves of strategic planned communist conquest. We must consider the possibility that a Communist General may even now be sitting in the White House. It is also possible that we may have been electing some of environmental C (institutional Government protects man by limiting political power. 0 wnership of private property is the foundation of Freedom. atural (God-giverights of man n) must be protected by government. essential to world peace and the Freedom of is S man.
