B l of Ephraim An active worker in t the h e Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter Saints he had served as president of f the Eastern States Mission from 1901 to 1907 He had also served in the cies of various stake Sunday Schools and Mutual Improvement Improvement Improve Improve- ment associations in stake high councils etc At the time of death he was was serving as Granite Stake Patriarch He had served as St. St George and city councilman councilman councilman coun coun- cilman and represented that area in the state legislature Governor George Dern ap appoInted appointed appointed ap- ap pointed him state insurance commissioner a position he held for eight years He was born Oct 10 1867 in St. St George to Hector and Agnes Gray He married Maggie Dec 2 1887 She died Nov 23 1953 He was reared and educated in St St. George learning learn learning ing the trades of blacksmith and carpenter He was a carpenter carpenter carpenter car car- penter and contractor for 13 years He later taught school at the Murdock Academy at Beaver Deaver the Emery Stake Academy Academy Ac Ac- B ademy emy at Castle Dale and the Brigham Young University in Provo Survivors include sons and daughters Daniel S.
