He took them into the Crescent Theater and gave them a Christmas treat. Later in the evening the committee conducted a dance in the Atherley Pavilion . and was a' success in every way. The work of stringing the lights was performed by John F. Rowe and his crew and burned out globes were replaced by Mayor Dean Beck and the City Council. Mrs. Margaret Hannifin was seriously injured when she fell and broke her left arm near the shoulder. The accident happened when Mrs. Hannifin stepped out of her kitchen door onto the icy stoop. She was taken to the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City. A number of prominent educators of Millard County were in Eureka for the purpose of inspecting the local schools, especially the manual training shop and its relation to the National defense program in certain lines of mechanics. Tintic had one of the few shops in the state which was well enough equipped and large enough to put on a program whereby civilians and students alike could be taken care of.
