Show May 17, 1957 THE EUREKA (UTAH) REPORTER "T" Day Concluded With "Sleepless" Party Miss Diane Handle entertained at a slumberless party last Thursday night following the T Day activities. To start off the. nights fun, Dianes guests enjdyed a weiner roast in the Handle patio and listened to the record player, sang songs perhaps did a bit of rock and roll" and well just anything to stay awake, and if you think anyone slept, just ask Dianes parents, the Lloyd Randles. But then who wants to sleep at a party? When anyone showed signs of falling to sleep someone would let out a war whoop and things would liven up immediately. It is reported however, that a few of the girls dropped off to sleep in the wee small hours of the morning. To climax a fun filled night, the young ladies cooked breakfast and drifted off to school. Luckily no classes were held on T Day, so the girls were able to stay awake long enough to do the things that were expected of them bofore going home to fall into bed and make up for some lost sleep, but Gee it was fun they all agreed. Attending were LaVon Castle-toJoan Jameson, Lois Jones, Barbara Stubblefield, Barbara Boswell, Karen Bray and Eileen McNeil and of course, Diane. n, "Y" Students Stage Novel Costume Party A costume party staged by Morley Peterson and Ronald Thomas on Tuesday evening at the LDS recreation hall, proved to be an evening of real entertainment for all iose attending. The entertainment carried out the Carnival .spirit and games of all types were enjoyed, and hot dog stands were placed throughout the Hall, which added much to the merriment of the festivities. Prizes were given for the best costume and the prize for the best dressed man went to Lee Ryan, while the prize for the best dressed lady went to Lee Bird. Morley and Ronald are senior students at the Brigham Young University and will graduate next month. Mr. and Mrs. Claus Rostrom and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson and son, Bobbie of .Mammoth drove to Provo on Sunday and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Isaacson. ciai fluent Mammoth 500 Club Meets A Miss Gloria Rae Garbett is Wed To Glen J. Wilson in Rites Here Mrs. Tom Garbett announces the marriage of her daughter, Gloria Rae Garbett, to Glen J. Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wilson of Grand Mrs. Don Giles Entertains Club Mrs. Don Giles entertained the members of the 500 club on Wednesday evening of last week. After cards, a delicious lunch was served to Mrs. John Phipps, Mrs. Anna Franks, Mrs. Greenhalgh, Mrs. Margaret Frank Peart, Mrs. Alliene Far-reMrs. John Jones, Mrs. Dee Clement and Mrs. Minnie Painter. First prize was won by Mrs. Phipps, cut prize by Anna Franks and consolation, Mrs. Greenhalgh. n, DUP Camp Notes Mothers Day Junction. The ceremony was performed at the home of the brides mother, on Saturday, May 4, with Bishop Lee Bird of LDS church, Eureka ward, officiating at the nuptials. The young couple was unattended. Following the ceremony, a buffet supper was served to the newlyweds, relatives and a few close friends.The Garbett home was attractive with many beautiful spring flowers. The bride has attended Tintic High School and the groom is employed by Sprague-Henwoo- d Drilling Company and following a short honeymoon they will make a home in Riverton, Wyoming. relatives attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jorgensen, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Rufus P. Snell, Frank Snell, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Grace Geist, Orem; Mrs. Norma Oakley, Springville; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Black, Payson. Out-of-to- Daughters of Utah Pioneers celebrated at a Mothers Day dinner and program on Thursday of last week. The entertainment was held in the Memorial building, with Captain Nellie Laird in charge. The dinner was served at 1:30 p.m. and the table was centered with an artistic floral design of colorful spring flowers. Individual pansy plants in miniature holders were used for favors. Mrs. Valene Livingston and Mrs. Dona Paxman were in charge of the dinner and the table decorations. There were 7 guests from the Nephi County Camp and 14 members from the Tintic Camp. The guests were Mrs. Alligee L. Anderson, Mrs. Elizabeth Black, The Mammoth Auxiliary Holds Poppy Program club 500 met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Ernest Carter. Prizes were won by Mrs. Clarence Bostrom, high score; Mrs. Charles Warren, 2nd high; Mrs. Oscar Erickson, the cut prize; and Mrs.' Chriss Sorensen, the consolation. , Mrs. Carter served tasty refreshments to those named and to Mrs. James Toone, Mrs. Dean Rose, Mrs. Harold Sorensen, Mrs. Melvin Hansen and Mrs. Marie Berry. Bridge Club at Child's Home President, lone Ryan presided at the American Legion After the program, an election of officers was held with the following results: President, Catherine Pannell; 1st vice president, Cleo Judge; 2nd vice president, Myrtle Pett; Virginia secreBradford was and treasurer; Chaplain, tary Elofence Potts; Sgts. at Arms, LaRue Fox. and Blanche Beck; Historian, lone Ryan; and Child Welfare chairman, Avis King. At the close of the meeting cards were enjoyed, with Mrs. Bradford winning the Bingo prize, Mrs. Hilda Webb, the 500 prize and Mathina Dalton, the raffle. Tasty refreshments were served by Marguerite Peterson, Bonnie Reid and Lena Franks, hostesses for the evening. re-elect- Mrs. Elden Childs entertained the Bridge club last Thursday evening. At the conclusion of the card games, the hostess served 'delicious refreshments to members Mrs. Margaret Greenhalgh, Mrs. LeRoy Gourley, Mrs. Heber Cushing, Mrs. Floyd Nash, Mrs. Dee Clement, Mrs. Don Giles, and the special guests, Mrs. Charles Daniels and Mrs. Anna Franks. High score was won by Mrs. Greenhalgh, all-cby Mrs. Gourley, honor prize, Mrs. Cushing and consolation, Mrs. Daniels. ut wn Harry Randle of Salt Lake was an overnight visitor on Saturday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Ada Randle. He was a dinner guest on Sunday at the home of his daughter, the Ray Badertchers. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunn of Nephi were visitors at the J. J. Coffey home on Thursday evening of last week.
