Show Mr. and Mra. Bert Bice were week visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Williams and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lazenby are the parents of a baby boy born in the Heber valley hospital. La vaughn Glnes who is working in Salt Lake spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perron Glnes. Out of town visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Turnbow and family was Mr. and Mrs. Loren Ashcraft and family from Pocatella, Ida; Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Lee and family, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. George Clements, Mr, and Mrs. Allen Clements and son of Provo. The Turnbows received word their 3 week old grandson had to have surgery He was operated on Wednesday at the Cottonwood hospital. Latest reports are that the baby la recovering real well. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Lazenby and Mrs. Zelma Lazenby were in Salt Lake Saturday and Mrs. Lazenby seen her doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Lazenby also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Acll Thomas and family. Mr. and Mrs. A1 Gouge and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Gouge and children were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Delyle Jones and family. They came to get acquainted with their new granddaughter. Mr . and Mrs. John Gorden and Gayle Ann from Salt Lake spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Casper. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Casper of Salt Lake spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Darreld Casper and family. Mr. and Mrs. LeMar Lazenby and Miss Shirley Hack-fo- rd and family. The Tabby Mount's riding club went to Heber to participate in the all region contests that were being held. Mr. and Mrs. Colin Hamilton spent the weekend with Mrs. Minnie Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Human development meet rated successful A highly successful Human Development 1, at Todd Workshop was held August Elementary School. The program was under the direction of the Ute Indian Tribe and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Branch of Social Services. A planning committee consisting of Dee Wilcox, Bureau of Indian Affairs Social Worker; Donald Hlcken, Social Worker; Lynn Ravsten, Consulting Psychologist; Garth Harrison, Regional Mental Health Coordinator; Ruby Black and Clarice Ignacio, Public Health Service, Community Health Representatives; and Irene Cuch, Tribal Business Committee Member; planned and directed the workshop. Special guest speaker was Miss Dorothea Dolan, a nationally known authority in the field of Rurfcl Mental Health. Miss Dolan represents the National Institute of Mental Health of Chevy Chase, Maryland. The theme of the workshop dealt with 20-2- faCTuuarra Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Allred have been to Sprlngville to attend a funeral of Reid Hales. They also visited thlr children and families at Orem and Pleasant Grove. Donna Foster has returned home after spending two months in Washington with relatives. Steven Humes and Aaron Rhoades were in an accident Friday evening in Duchesne. Aaron had a few cuts and bruises he was taken to Roosevelt. Cliff DrolHnger plane Tuesday morning for Salem, Ore., to visit with Mr, and Mrs. LaRell Chappell. The Chappell's will bring them home. They will be joined by Joan Ryan, Portland, Ore. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wlnterton, Salt Lake were Roosevelt visitors over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielsen and family, Orem, were weekend visitors with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nielsen. They are enroute to California where Keith will teach this winter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Elchelger and sons, Jack and Guy, Cud hay, Calif., are visiting with Mrs. Nancy Burton. Dr. and Mrs. Calvin Kowallls and family attended the Circus in Salt Lake Thursday. They were Joined by Dr. Kowallls' mother, Mrs. Norman Sal vesen, Logan . She accompanied them home for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Mecham and son Ronnie, Dugway, were recent visitors at the home of their daughters and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eggbert and Linda Manning, Salt Lake, recently visited with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Manning. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kershaw have returned to their home in St. George after spending about two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Sullivan. Mrs. Kershaw is Mrs. Sullivans sister, the former Elva Wilkins. Mr. and Mrs. James Curry and family, Almeda, Calif., who have been visiting with relatives in Roosevelt were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Rex Curry for a trip to Yellowstone National Park. They returned by way of Cowley, Wyo., where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wes Wilson. Lt. and Mrs. Douglas Jacobsen and three children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Labrum. The Jacobsens have been stationed in Montgomery, Ala., and are now enroute to Anchorage, Alaska, for the next two years. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielsen and family, Bountiful were weekend visitors with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Nielsen. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Laris, Sabrina, Lorna and Johnnie Bastlan motored to Rexburg, Sunday where Lorna will attend college at Ricks this winter. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Minnie and daughter Roxanne and Terlnia Catlado, Warren, Penn.,- are guests at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Sanden. Mr. and Carol Page has been home for the weekend. She will return to Ogden where she will teach school this year, Kathleen Page has gone to Farson, Wyo., where she will teach school this coming year. Verge Page has been to Provo and Salt Lake on business. Cheryl and Brian Brown of California flew up here to spend their vacation at the Lynn Hall home. Their parents will come after them and spend a week visiting here. Cheryl and Brian are Mrs. Hall's sisters children. Mrs. Lynn Hall has been to Salt Lake to see her doctor. She took her family and visited the zoo while there. Emma Lundberg has been to Provo to the question of the new industrial development which is taking place on the Ute Indian Reservation and the Impact it is expected to have on members of the Ute Tribe. The specific questions of education preparation, employment, and family life were discussed by gi oups of participants. an One hundred eighteen Indian and residents of the Uintah Basin attended the workshop. non-Indi- Mrs. Carrie Wills has been called to fill a mission tor the LDS Church. The following children spent Sunday with' her for a family dinner and attend Sacrament meeting where Sister Wills was the speaker and be present at an Open House honoring their mother after meeting, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Todd and family, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Dee Erickson and family, Huntington Park, Calif, and local family members. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bowden and Lisa along with the following company, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Larsen and children, Steve and Cheryl and a friend Scot Peterson from Magna, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Baker and daughter, Linda and husband and two children returned home from a eight day 2000 mile trip which Included the Black Hills in South Dakota, the Little see her doctor. She spent two days in the hospital there while tests were run. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dean and family of Salt Lake visited here with relatives and spent most of their vacation in the Mrs. mountains fishing and camping. Ellen Dean came here with them, later Jenny Ellison and daughter came from Salt Lake and took Mrs. Dean back to her home in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Collins took their granddaughter, Tammy, back to Lark to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor. Mrs. Kay Frlsby and children have spent a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Collins and the Frlsbys. Her husband, Duane, came Saturday from Provo to take her home. Word was received from Carol who is back In Massachusetts, that she and her husband had gone to the LDS Church at Havard, Mass., and met Carl White who grew up In Ballard. Carl is going to a University In Boston working on his docorate degree In counseling. ' Ted Thacker and son Quinn from Mesa, Arlz., were here at the Ellis Morrell home. They came to get his three daughters, Marllee and Rhonda who have been staying with their grandparents, the Mor-rll- ls and Sharan who stayed with the other grandparents In Vernal the Leslie ThacHun-tzln- A. (Central Intelligence Agency), Mr. and Mrs. Theron Leavitt went to Logan over the weekend to attend a reception for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shelton. Bert Gardner accompanied them as far as Salt Lake where he entered the hospi- tal. Ed Labrum spent Wednesday in Denver attending to business. Donna Rose returned to Roosevelt Saturday where she will teach school. She will stay with Melba Hansen. Bonnie Eksund, Provo, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Eksund. Mr. and Mrs. LaRell Chappell, Salem, Ore., are the parents of a baby boy born July 24. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ormon Sullivan and the great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Sullivan. Mr. and Mrs. Ormon Sullivan left by Big Horn and Yellowstone Park. James Hamblin, daughter Rleta Lyn and granddaughter, Ellen Larsen motored to Logan Friday to get Mrs. Rleta Hamblin at the finish of her classes. They came back by Provo and brought a school friend of Rleta Lyns, Barbara from Germany home for the weekend. Becky Bell on spent several days at Mill Hollow located beyond Kama attending a State FHA Seminar training She returned home Sunday program. and Judy Alvy. Mrs. Eva Jim with night Bellon, Salt Lake, came with them also and will visit here with the Arvln Bellons and Lyn Millers. Mrs. Ora Warren, Price and Mrs. Verda Dennis, Provo, spent part of the past week with their brothers Fay and Vlrgel Mecham. Brownie and Wendy Tomlinson and son are vacationing at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tomlinson and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Freston. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bowden and daughter motored to Magna and Salt Lake Saturday to attend the wedding reception of their nephew Randy Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Larsen. Mrs. Wayne Brown and family, Helper; and Max Shaw from Granger; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Blanchard, Farmington. Dale Anderson took a bus load of H members to Salt Lake Thursday to attend the circus at the Salt Palace. Alice Mecham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs . Fay Mecham , underwent surgery in the local hospital Monday. Mrs. Jennie Shawl returned to her home in Delta , Colo., this week. Her grandson, Lyn Boren took her back. Mrs. Phil Thompson was a patient In the local hospital during the week. A near tragedy occurred at the James Powell oil well when one of the heat trucks exploded settings fire which burned Don Johnson, geologist, quite severly. He was taken to the hospital and the fire department was called from Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Bertock, Salt Lake, called on the Reed Andertons. Bertocks are former residents of this area and plan to move back. Recent company at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Qulv Lawson were daughter, Elaine and Gene Sanders girls Jill and Lori from Nevada and Genes mother, Mrs. Katherine Cook from San Diego, KTANIIAKII - Kuunevelt Utah Thursday, August 27, 1970 3 Mrs. Minnie are Mrs. Sandras parents. Tammy Gilbert left August IS for Rexburg, Ida., where she will attend the Rick's college. Mrs. Norman Holmes returned home August 16 from Littleton, Colo., where she spent three weeks with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Smith. The Smith's have a new baby born August 3. Mr. and Mrs. Muse Harris are the great grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Labrum and Jane recently spent a few days in Las Vegas attending the showing of the 71 Fords. Charles Jenkins, Blaine Elnerson, Bill Labrum and Dale Galley attended a Ford showing in Salt Lake Wednesday. RaNae Loft house, Tetonla, Ida., has arrived In Roosevelt. She will teach school again this year and will stay at the Merle Ross residence. Bill Edwards and sons, Dale and Don spent a few days in Roosevelt attending to business. They were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Lob ram. Mr. and Mrs. Preston G. Martin, Challls, Vt., are house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Scholes this week. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eldredge and motored to Layton Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Eldredge and family. Guests at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Bowman last week were Mrs. Bowmans sister in law, Mrs. Magdalene Barnett, Vienna, DL, and her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stenocher and three children, Davenport, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lloyd, Midvale, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr . and Mrs. Bowman. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Murray are parents of a baby boy born August weighted 8 pounds, 6 oz. They have two other children. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Murray, Roosevelt, Mr. and Mrs. Laris Wooley and the great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Huber, Lapoint. Stella Bodily and daughter of Salt Lake were here at the Jr. Jenklns home for a few days. Visiting at the Jerry Hatch home is his son Gerald and family from California while here they have spent part of their time boating and fishing In the mountains. Visiting at the Carl Shlsler home is Lee Merritt from Mesa, Arts. He is a student at the BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Facial and son from San Diego, Calif., visited briefly at the Hazel Shlsler home. Todd McKenna who spent the summer at his grandparents, the Gilbert McKennas has returned to Logan to attend school and be with his family.
