Mr. and Mrs, Robert Labrum were guests at the Richard Adams residence. They enjoyed a pheasant hunt. Harold Dillman, Layton, attended to business In Roosevelt last week. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lloyd enjoyed a visit In Sprlngville with Mr. and Mrs. Garn Lloyd and family. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Harrison. They the motored to Logan to see Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lloyd. Jesse Lloyd who Is attending school In Logan returned to Roosevelt with them for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Jensen and two children , Salt Lake were recent visitors with Mrs. Jensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Wllcken. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wall, Powder Wash, Colo., visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Lloyd last week. They came to attend the funeral of Mr. Wall's father, Henry WUford Wall of Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Nlckell, and family, Bountiful, Kenneth Nlckell, Pleasant Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Brent Nlckell, Salt Lake were guests at the Lynn Nlckell residence over the weekend. They came to enjoy the pheasant hunt. -Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jensen returned home Oct. 26 from a tour of Oakland, San Franclso, Sacramento and other places of Interest. They left Oct. 27 for Denver Colo, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Mohlman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Ashton left Sunday, Nov. 1 to make their home In Salt Lake. They have been residents of Roosevelt and will be greatly missed. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmlett, Salt lake were guests at the Clair Ashton residence. They remained In Roosevelt to get Ashton' s furniture packed to be taken to Salt Lake. Mrs. Gordon Harmston was a Roosevelt visitor over the weekend. She accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ashton to Salt lake. We cordially invite your patronage. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Robbins were saddened by the death of Mrs. Robblns brother, Leo W. Wild, funeral services were held In Vernal Tuesday at 11 a.m. and burial was In the Ferron Cemetery. A graveside service was held there also. Weekend visitors at the Clarence Liddell residence for pheasant hunting were Mrs. John Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Tallerico, Dragerton and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dansle and family, Layton. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lloyd were Mr. and Mrs. Ira Winkler, Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Fagglole, Salt Lake, were visitors over the weekend with her mother Mrs. Margaret Lloyd. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Felt and family, Roy, Paula Murphy, Provo; Mr, and Mrs. Dan Witt, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Alfred Schlag, Colorado, Springs, Colo.; were In Roosevelt Sunday and Monday due to the death of their father and grandfather, Edwin L. Murphy. Bill Edwards and son, Dale and Don, Elmo and Miles Nelson, Salt Lake were visitors at the Clem Labrum residence over the weekend. They came to hunt pheasants. Mr. and Airs. Keith Elllngsford and family, Granger, spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Gilbert Elllngsford. Douglas Labrum, Bountiful, spent Saturday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Labrum. Mrs. Leona Schaefermeyer and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schaefermeyer spent Sunday at the Nell Schaefermeyer residence. BANK Mr . and Mrs. Ross Iorg were Salt lake visitors where Mr. Iorg had a check up with his doctor. Visiting with the Slxklller and Iorg families during the annual deer hunt were Charles and Robert Freeman, Pala, Calif, and Ernie "Indian Red" Lopez, San Gabriel, Calif. Alan Iorg who Is recovering from Injuries received at Bonanza, In a mine cave In two months ago has recovered OF VERNAL Joe Shelton - Nancy Betz engagement told Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Betz announce the engagement of their daughter , Nancy, to Joe Shelton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Shelton. Mrs. Betz Is the former Marva Lewis who was a resident of the basin for many years. She graduated from A1 terra high school. She and her husband now live in Sunnyslde, Wash. The bride has attended college In Washington for the past three and one half years. She spent one summer teaching In an Institution for the mentally retarded children. Her major Is English and her minor Is art. Joe Is a graduate of Union high school. He has served three years In the Marine Corps. NAMES QUEEN The IRW Tops Club met at the Lopoint chapel October 29. Joan Huber, president, conducted a business meeting. Queens for the week were June Woolley and Reba Clerlco. August queen Frances Bartlett; September queen Merl Horrocks. It was decided that after the meeting next week a demos tratlon of flowers will be given and volley ball will be played. Mr. and Mrs. John Wogec, Citrus Heights, Calif, and Ted Campbell, lone, Calif, former resident of Roosevelt and now mayor of lone, visited Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Reynold, Craig, Colo for the elk hunt. Then they came to Roosevelt and hunted deer with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Yack. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Collett, Gillette, Wyo, spent a week visiting at the Frank Yack residence because of the Illness of their mother, Mrs. George Walkup. They returned to Wyoming to get their bellng-lnand moved to Hollbrock, Arlz., where they will take care of a mission home. Frank Yack spent Friday In Salt lake attending a Co-meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas White and Moab, spent the weekend with their parents, they came to go pheasant hunting. Mic-he- Mr. and Mm. K. C. Bishop LeRoy Gardner officiated In the double ring ceremony In the presence of families and close friends. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Malnar are parents of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth LaRose are parents of the bridegroom. The bride was lovely In a floor-leng- th gown of white embossed taffeta with empire waistline and an appllqued bodice. Her walstlength veil of sheer net was held by a pearl tiara. She carried a bouquet of an orchid surrounded with tinted blue carnations and blue and silver streamers. Baskets of floral arrangements In blue and white set the decor of the hall where a reception was held following the wedding. Mrs. Terry Torguson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were JoAnn Whiting, Marilyn Young, Peggy Thompson and Erna LaRose. They wore light blue and silver brocade satin gowns In a princess style and carried a single white mum surrounded with net of blue and silver. Lora Malnar and Christy LaRose were flower girls. They had gowns like those of the bridesmaids and they carried baskets of tinted blue carnations. The mother of the bride wore a navy blue and white suit and the mother of the bridegroom wore a blue lace dress. Both wore corsages of white roses with blue and silver ribbons. Gregg Timothy performed duties of best man. Ushers were Paul Atwood, Marlon Malnar and Jack LaRose. The four-ti- er wedding cake was iced In white with blue accents. The American Legion Auxiliary was organized at the first National Convention of the American Legion In Minneapolis, Minn., on November 10, 1919. This patriotic organization, headed by Mrs. H. HI club ks FOR US CLUB MEETS SPADE-H- I Rulon Jones of Salt Lake was a guest at the Verl Haslems on Oct SI. He enjoyed pheasant hunting before returning home on Nov. 1. Quite a few members of the White-rocward enjoyed the Centennial Ball and the Halloween Party held In Neola last week. The MIA of the two wards are combined. The entire studentbody of Whlterocks was taken to Vernal on Oct. 28 to see the Uintah high school presentation of "Alice In Wonderland." Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Dennis, Logan, visited last weekend at the Walter Moos-man- s. LaRae Moosman was sustained as Ward Organist and Dennis Hoopes was graduated from Primary In Sacrament meeting on Nov. 2. Paula Hoopes accompanied the Carl Van Tassels to Salt Lake last week to see Rulon Van Tassel board the plane for Arizona yhere he will spend the next two years on an Indian Mission. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Collett were recent visitors in Whlterocks. They have been living In Gillette, Wyo., but were moving to Holbrook, Arlz. to work In the LDS Mission home there. They have been called on a 2 year mission to that area. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Glines visited at the George Walkups during the deer hunt. Mrs. Glines helped In the Walkup home during the Illness of Pearl and Georgia Walkup. Mrs. Walkup spent sometime in the Duchesne Co. Hospital but Is now able to be home. Georgia was also released from a Salt Lake Hospital last week after having major surgery. Jerry Tapoof had the misfortune to get his arm broken while flaying on the school grounds on Oct. 24. He had to be taken to Salt Lake to get It taken care of. ms parents, the Bert Tapoofs took him there. He Is In the 6th grade. Another 6th grader, Glen Henstreet had the misfortune to get his foot broken on Oct. 30 at his home In Tridell. The 4th and 5th graders of White-roc- ks school enjoyed a field trip to the Vlrtus McConkle ranch In Dry Fork on Oct. 28. They also visited the Dinosaur Natl Monument after having lunch at Merkleys Park.
