Show Cougarettes officers plan years activities STANDARD - Roosevelt, Utah Thursday, October 2, 1969 New officers and members of the "Union Cougarettes" have been selected. "Couga-rettadvisor, Mrs. Nancy Perclval reported that a junior drill mistress would be chosen at a later date. Senior members of the club include those who have been enrolled for one year, they are: Kathy Allred, Lorna Perkins, Annette Velma Fleldstead motored to Provo to meet her sister and husband and from there they went to Lake Louise In the Canadian Rockies. They spent five days there . Upon returning home Velma stopped st Provo to visit her son Stanley and family. Mr. and Mrs. Hlldun Mower and two daughters from Montana are visiting her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Pete --M- rs, e" Bas-tla- n, Annette Cook, Susan Denver, Kathy Hardlnger, Susan Hoi gate, Lori Kowallis, Linda Manning, Lareen Malnsr, Cheryl Nelson, Christine Nyberg, Darlene Olpln, Joan Perkins, Marrlanne Pike, Susan Irene Louise Rockwood, Rasmussen, Thatcher, Roma Woolley and Marilyn WalL Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wall attended a funeral on Monday In Craig for Mrs. Walls nephew Raymon Mower killed In -- Young. Junior members of the club were chosen last Spring at tryouts held at Union High. an automobile accident. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Thacker are spending a few days here . They were married recently and will soon return to Wyoming where Evan has work. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Maxfleld motored to Durango over the weekend to visit their son Perry and family. Visiting with the Lester Maxflelds was their daughter, Leslie and husband Phill Speed and they had their baby daughter blessed. She was given the name of Dina also their son Kent from BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Tuft had their baby daughter blessed and she was given the name of Jennifer. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Reay weirit to Dennison, Colo, to visit a daughter, Darlene and husband, Max Thompson and to see their new baby boy. They stopped in Grand Junction and visited their son Gary and family who have a new baby daughter. Presenters of special Explorerlng program and post operation will be John Smith, advisor of post 231, Vernal; Arden Stewart, advisor of Post 233 and 775, Vernal; Don Hooper Explorer Advisor of Post 750, Roosevelt; Roger Hacking, member of Council Executive committee and Uintah District Committee; Bert Dannenberg, District Executive; David Hales, post president of Post 231, Vernal and Kevin VanTassell, of Post 263 Tablona. MOTOR presents Punt, Pass & Kick Roosevelt merchants donate equipment Competition for 1969 In Youngsters at the Head Start school new Lapolnt recently received a gift of a swing set and other toys for their playground. They money for the new equipment was donated by a group of Roosevelt businessmen. Jason Cuch, director of Head Start said he was very pleased with this project. It showed the cooperation of parents of the students and the merchants of Roosevelt. He noted that communities working together like this can accomplish a great deal In helping make some very worthwhile projects come to pass. There are two sets of twins at the school, daughers of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lauritzen, Michelle and Michaleln and sons of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Martin, Kenneth and James. All are residents of Lapolnt. The school has an enrollment of 17 three and four year old students. Mr. Cuch recently returned from a week of training In Denver for Parent Involvement. He stated that this was a fine example of how parents and community Involvement can really work when people can communicate and work together, Mrs. R'Dean lauritzen Is parent chairman.
