She said that she had enjoyed meeting many people of Roosevelt and Vernal that she had not seen for many years. The new Mrs. America said that she and her husband spent the first three days of their honeymoon In Roosevelt about the time Clair Larsen completed the Western Hills Motel. Musical entertainment was a song by the Soclalette Club sextet consisting of Mrs. Clair Duncan, Mrs. Terry Buxton, Mrs. Eton Mantyla, Mrs. Shlrl Rawlings, Mrs. Gordon Wight and Mrs. Gordon Eldredge, accompanied by Mrs. James Lube. Mrs. V. Fred Washburn, district president, conducted the convention. The Uintah Basin district convention of the Federation of Womens clubs was held Thursday evening at the Roosevelt Ward Cultural hall. Arrangements for the convention were made by the Roosevelt Culture and Soc la-l- et te clubs. The guest speaker was the newly crowned Mrs. America, Mrs. Bryon Fisher, Salt Lake She Illustrated her talk with a movie showing the events of the national Mrs. America contest. She was accompanied to Roose- - w, relatlves In the Basin. He Is a native of Jensen and has been teaching In Utah and Idaho schools for 39 years. He Is now retired. He taught biology and the last five years was In the guidance program ' as a conselor. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rawlings became parents of a baby boy born Sunday at 2:30 am. at the Duchesne County hospital. This Is their first child. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rawlings and Mrs. Thora Sorenson, Washington, are grandparents. Mrs. Sorenson arrived Tuesday to visit with them for a while. There were ladles table.
