Show THE CITIZEN 7 MUL . WORLD WAR 8CENE8 ARE ' M SHOWN TO PEOPLE AT HOME f' The Big ' Parade, the, most thrill. ing and picture ever flashed upon a local or any other screen, has all Utah coming to the awe-inspiri- ng . Pantages theatre for the week, the picture to be run until next Tuesday. This picture made on the battlefields of-- the Word War can never .be forgotten. The outstanding, moral Is the unselfish heroism and patriotism shown . by. the boys in blue and gray. The way the Yanks faced the hail of cannon machine gun fire .is beyond the ,ynd comprehension of any human mind, yet there they were, following the Stars and Stripes in the face of almost certain, death. There on the battlefields the highly and the low, the rich and the poor became lifelong palls, where acts of heroism were looked upon as mere courtesies in our every day life. If this picture tells parts of the World War story, then God forbid that our boys- will ever be called to war again. To describe this picture would be foolhardy. It is so spectacular and impressive, so destructive to huma'n life and to property. Whole companies of men are wiped out of existence with shot and shell; buildings and forests fall like straw wafted before a wind storm. The declaration of war calls tne boys to arms. There are scenes in the - . average home, the parting of mothers and fathers from their sons whom they may never; see again.. There is the army life in the training camp. Then comes the word to go to the front and life on the hellish firing line where the bullets are flying as thick as bees, the only difference is that the sting of the bullet is death. But the picture is not without its true love story. We find our own John Gilbert as a hero and he meets his fate in Renee Adoree, a French flame kindling love at first sight. The unfaithful girl at home loses the love of her hero warrior who returns to France after the war and marries his war bride, creating an ideal ending for the picture. Manager Pemberton has arranged for five shows of the picture, commencing every day at 12 oclock noon and running continuously to nearly mid- night. There are two super vaudeville acts presented along with the picture. Three Negroes, one of them a girl, sing and dance in a maze of steps. The Venetian carnival, showing the up-to-da-te water streets of Venice in a beautiful stage setting and impersonation of the Mardi Gras in which orchestra music and excellent dancing by graceful artistes pleases the big crowds.
