A brief squint at the plot reveals Nora OHara (Miss George) joining the cabaret chorus of the Cafe Salvatore, owned by the big boss (Ferdinand Munier), and managed by Tony, the little boss (Ben Erway, with whom the other girls are despecately , in love, and among whom he distributes with impartiality kicks and fisticuffs as return tokens of his favor. But Nora does not fear Tony. Instead she vamps him into a genuine affection of the galvanic which electrifies the emotions of type playgoers. Treat Em Rough is a whole lot of regular show, a play of life, love and action, with plenty of the latter. Not one bit of atmosphere is overlooked. Joe, the organ grinder, and his monkey, Demetrius, the fruit peddler, Lola, the neighborhood vamp, and her jealous husband, the ward political boss and other picturesque characters of the New York Italian quarter, will be found portrayed by members of the large cast. Miss Donna Jones, Miss Daisy Del Wilcox, Noel Leslie, Cyril Delevanti, Arthur Loft, Charles Hagerty and others of the cast will be seen in splendid roles. Incidentally to wear tights or not to wear em has been a subject of debate all week among the ladies of the company who are to be cabaret girls.
