The Salt Lake Itotarian golfers under the leadership of A1 Cowan, defeated the Ogden Rotarians last Wednesday on the Ogden Country club greens by a score of 44 to 30. C. A. Day of Ogden immediately challenged the Salt Lakers to a return match to be played in this city some time early in July. In the meantime the Junction City boys will brush up on their lawn pool and expect to retrieve their lost honors in the coming contest. To Ross Gwilliams goes the honor of turning in the medal score. Gwilliams played the eighteen holes in 80, which is four strokes over par. Few of the golfers turned in scores which were recorded in the eighties. Lee Charles Miller disposed of C. A. Day in their match, winning with three points. A1 Cowaii, general of the Salt Lake contingent, was held to a scoreless tie, by Frank Driggs. A. N. McKay, the only newhpaper-ma- n in attendance, in match play, was handed a defeat in a close contest with Dr. W. E. Whalen of Ogden. The Rev. J. F. Carver of Ogden, won out over the Rev. Wm. Fleet-wooof Salt Lake, in one of the other feature matches of the afternoon.
