Show UBAVC organizes advisory committee An organizational meeting for the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center's advisory committee for the business department was held Tuesday, Nov. 22. The meeting outlined the objectives and goals of the committee and orient. The committee to the curriculum offerings and programs available through UBAVC. The winter quarter schedule wu reviewed and committee members made recommendations for additional training programs. The committee members include: Ruth Allen, who works for the Uintah Basin Telephone Association; Merlene Pierce, who is Altamont branch manager for First Security Bank; Evette Hadlock, a student at the UBAVC; Peggy Deller, who is employed by Moon lake Electric, Ken Trowbridge, who is the secondary student representative; Eloise Adams, a legal secretary; Ellen accounting firm. Members of the staff of the vocational center who are committee members include: Keith Bergquist, director of instruction; Beverly Evans, business department chairperson; Sherry Bolton, personal development and office occupations instructor, Joe Liddell, typewriting and shorthand instructor, and Ralph Hill who instructs the accounting and finance classes. Lone Gingell, who attends Dixie College, spent Thanksgiving with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gingell. Another Dixie student, Ben Murphy, spent the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verl Murphy. Karen Haucter, who attends Utah State, visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Haueter, over the holidays. The Myton Ward Teachers Quorum are sponsoring a Walt Disney Movie "The Snowball Express," Friday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Myton Ward. Gordon Muiere was baptized and confirmed. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mieure. Sonya Sorenson and Karen O'Driscol visited in Wyoming over the holidays. He weighed 2 lbs. 9 oz. He is now in the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. He is named Jeffery Willis. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Victor Horrocks, Neola, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Pike, Casper, Wyo. Mr. Harold Thompson,' a lay speaker from Trinity United Methodist Church in Kearns, was the speaker on Nov. 27, the first Sunday in the Advent Season.
