Following Santas appearance, a free Christmas movie will be shown at the Roosevelt Theater at 2 p.m. for all children under 12 years of age. The movies will be shown at 2 p.m. every Saturday until Christmas. City crews began putting up the Christmas street decorations Monday morning and the big Christmas tree was put up on the First Security bank corner over the weekend. The tree was donated by Carma Winterton and was cut by the American Legion on the old Wilson place by the park. It was moved into place by the Moon Lake Electric Association truck. The Culture Club purchased the materials for decorating the tree. The Christmas tree will be officially lighted for the season at 5:30 p.m. The ROOSEVELT STANDARD reindeer at home Saturday in favor of a more modern mode of transportation when he flies into Roosevelt via helicopter at 10 a.m. He will preside on the First Security Bank corner from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving out bags of candy and treats for all children who come to see him, sit in his lap and tell him what they would like to find under the tree Christmas The littlest Indian was Little because he had a little Spear he knife But had other too. a spear little Idians called him named like "shortcake" and "shrimp" and Little Spear got sad. Two weeks ago an ad was brought in for some Holstein heifers for sale, by Leo Ames up in Altonah. He drove all the way down here to get the ad in. The IIS Bureau of Reclamation is developing an exploratory drilling and instrumentation program for Starvation Dam to trace and monitor seepage through the dam abutments. The study is designed to determine the extent of grouting or other seepage controls necessary to meet current federal design standards. The dam is one of three in Utah mentioned in a report released last month by the Bureau of Reclamation's Washington office as requiring modification or repairs to meet standards. The report was the result of an internal study on dam safety made by the bureau. Among other recommendations, the report urged priority for proposed additions or modifications to 25' Reclamation-constructed dams. Echo Dam north of Coalville was another of the dams on the priority list. Ballard boy was killed Nov. 18, when he fell Friday evening, from a moving farm tractor as it made a turn from the Old Airport Road. John Barry Birchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Birchell of Ballard, was a passenger on a tractor driven by his Jack R. Birchell, 63, also of great-unclBallard when the elder Birchell geared down to make a turn. Birchell said the tractor jerked and the boy fell off. Well, last week the ad was in. But for some reason it didn't read right. During .the process of setting the typet the words came out Holstein instead of Holstein Ilerefords, heifers. And Mr. Ames was even more upset this time, and we cant blame him. We did send his money back, and promised to try once more to get the ad right. And we do appreciate his ' Anyway, if you have need for Holstein heifers, please call Mr. Ames and take them off his hands. A Meetings set to nominate Moon Lake directors Members of Moon Iakp Electric Association in director districts 1. 3 and 5 will meet next week to nominate candidates for directors. Members living in district 3 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Nov. 29, at the Neola Elementary Srhool. The district extends east from Mt. Emmons to the Durhesne-UintaCounty line and north from Ioka Iane. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. Members from district 1 will meet at noon Wednesday, Nov. 31, at the Altamont American I region Hall. Lunch will he served. District 1 is the area west of the highway going through Mt. Emmons and north of the Ioka Iiine. Members in District 5 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the office of Superior Welding in Lnpoint. The district covers the area west of the line to a line running through the Whiterocks, Tridell and Gusher areas. Refreshments will also be served at this meeting. The meetings are being held to nominate candidates for the post of director from each of the districts.
