Missionary to report John Douglas Barton returned home Sunday, October 23, after serving a two year LDS mission in the Halifax, Nova Scotia Mission. He will report his mission Sunday, November 6 at 12:45 p.m. in the Altamont 1st Ward. John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Douglas Barton. Mrs. Diane Brough, a son to Mrs. Terry Fields ted, a son to Mrs. Gary Fieldsted, a daughter to Mrs. Brent Fieldsted. They all met at the home of Harry and Beverly Fieldsted Saturday, October 22, and while the men went deer hunting, Beverly served dinner for the ladies and they took pictures of the babies, the grandmothers and Velma. Bishop Holgate took a group of men to the temple in Provo last week. During the 1950's Orlie coached the Roosevelt American Legion baseball team and started a baseball program for youngsters in the area which later was taken over by the Little League program. He also coached Little League teams for several years. He has also served as Neighborhood for the Boy Scout Commissioner program for a number of years. Orlie and his family are members of St. Helen's Parish in Roosevelt Orlie has been the DDD chairman for many years, and is also a lector. Father Garvey credited him for doing innumerable tasks around the church, rectory and convent for Fathers and Sisters. They had to rush Alma to the Wade RANDLETT byCkudltf 545-243- 9 national chorus Roger Fleshman of Roosevelt has been chosen as a member of the National FFA Chorus which will provide music for the Future Farmers of America 50th National Convention Nov. 1 in Kansas City, Mo. Roger, 17, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fleshman and is a member of the Roosevelt FFA Chapter at Union high schooL ' He was chosen from more than 300 applicants in 38 states to join the chorus. Participants were recommended by their states FFA and their high school vocational agriculture instructor and choir director. The chorus w31 be directed by Marvin Myers, a retired member of the Purdue University musical organization at West Lafayette, Ind. He has directed the National FFA chorus for 10 years. Chorus members will learn their music prior to the convention, then will begin rehearsals Sunday evening in Kansas City. Their first performance will be Tuesday evening at the Vespers Service preceding the opening of the convention. The chorus will also have a part in the FFA Golden Anniversary pageant, tracing the oganization's history from its beginning in 1928. Roosevelt Hospital where a baby girl was born. The Ouray Park Ditch Company held a stockholders meeting in Roosevelt to vote on building a new reservoir in Cottonwood above Gusher. The vote was unanimous to build it. Bill and Ivy Chandler have returned from a week in Calif., where they attended funeral services for her sister, Wanothel Turner Stienfeldt. She was born and raised in the Uintah Basin, growing up on Deep Creek, north of Lapoint. She was the daughter of Ivan and Elva Turner. She spent several years in Salt Lake, but for the past 20 years she and her husband, Joe Steinfeldt, have lived in Leisure World in Seal Beach, Calif. She has one daughter, Barbara Wright, and three grandchildren. She was buried in Forest Lawn Covina Hills Cemetery. Reah and Milton Stoddard and family were out for a long weekend to spend some time with her folks, Donna and Wayne Pickup. They also spent some time at Starvation Reservoir boating and fishing.
