Miss G)nnie Wedding Plans Announced For Miss Brighton Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Brighton of Roosevelt announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Connie, to Lennis G. McKee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed McKee of Tridell. Miss Brighton is a 1977 graduate of Union high school, where she was an honor student and a four-yea- r Seminary graduate. She plans to attend the Utah State University Extension Center in Roosevelt this fall Lennis graduated from Union high school in 1973, where he was also a fouryear Seminary graduate. He attended Utah State University and served a two-yemission to Kentucky and Tennessee for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. He is now in Tridell. The couple will be married Sept. 22 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor Sept. 23 in the Roosevelt West Stake Center. They will make their home in Tridell. d Births Now that school has started. Duchesne social clubs and groups are resuming meetings for the 1977-7- 8 year. The first nutrition meal will be served to seniors on Tuesday, September 13th at the Roosevelt Junior high school at 1 p.m. The Duchesne area and Vernal Senior citizen buses will both be going to transport seniors to Holiday on Ice at the Salt Palace and the State Fair on Wednesday, September 14. The bus will leave very early on Wednesday and return late Wednesday night or Thursday morning. For reservations, cull as soon as possible, as ticket orders must be made immediately. All students enrolled in the Utah State University Extension or the Uintah Basin Area Vocation Center or any other classes or anyone ages 18 to 26 or spouses of students can enroll in the classes for a student fee of $3.50. Classes offered include Religion 130, Sharing the Gospel, the course for prospective missionaries; Religion 341, latter-daSaint History,- covering the church history from 1820 to 1845 and doctrine revealed during that time; Religion 324, Doctrine and Covenants, an analysis of Doctrine and Covenants and Religion teachings in sections 121, the Book of Mormon, the history and teachings in the Book of Mormon from 1st Nephi throgh the Words of Mormon. The Book of Mormon class is being offered by request and a minimum number of students will be required. Dan Consla of Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, brought the message to Myton Community Presbyterian Church Sunday. Using the 23rd Psalm and other readings from the Old and New Testaments, the Rev. Consla spoke on the image of God as a shepherd, reminding the congregation that it is the will of the shepherd that is important not the will of the sheep. However, we can all be shepherds for the Lord, he said. The Rev. Consla's wife, Jcri served as pianist during the services. Next weeks speaker will be from Central Christian Church in Salt Lake City. The Ladies' Aide will quilt on Tuesday and Friday of this week and will hold a business and social meeting at the church at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. Mrs. Frank Griffin will serve as hostess. Mrs. Beth Keech donated a box of handmade dolls and animals to the Aide to be sold at the rummage sale this fall. Duchesne Relief Society plans The 1st Ward Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints resumed weekly meetings on Wednesday, September 7th at 10:00 a.m. Geneology will be the subject of study for the month of September. There won't be a workday in September. The opening social will he held on the 1st Wednesday in October. The first workday will he the third Wednesday in s October, at which time the s will begin. One will consist of three workdays and include cake decorating, Christmas decorations, and rug hooking and braiding, along with seven other subjects. The Second Ward Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of letter Day Saints resumed weekly meetings on Tuesday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. Geneology will he the topic at all four meetings in September. The classes are open to members of all faiths and will be devoted to study of The Later History of Israel. There is no rharge. All interested women are invited to attend the beginning class.
