Mr. Skewes, a native of Utah, began working for the Utah State Department of Highways (now the Utah Department of Transportation) in May, 1929, as a chairman. He received a B. S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah in 1931. Mr. Taylor has worked for the Utah Department of Transportation since 1959, first as Bridge Engineer in the Salt Lake area, then as Preconstruction Engineer in District 6, headquartered in Orem. He was appointed District Director of District 1 in Ogden in January, Edwin E. His replacement in the District 4 post win be named at a later date. Jim West, Engineer for Maintenance, will become District 6 Director in Orem. Wallace J. Stephenson, Engineer for Materials and Research, office of Preconstruction, will replace Mr. West as Engineer for Maintenance. Edwin E. Lovelace, current District 6 Director, will become Engineer for Materials and Research, Office of Preconstruction. The people of Hanna and Tabiona were saddened by the tragedy that hit the Burt family. Their 3 sons were in a bad car accident where one son, Brad, was fatally injured and Tim and Brian were seriously hurt They are now doing pretty good at this writing.
