Show 4 Duchesne class reunion held A five year reunion was held Saturday night, August 13th at 7:00 p.m. at the El Cid Steakhouse for the Duchesne high school graduating class of 1971. The event was attended by approximately 39 people, 20 of whom were former class members, and several teachers. The first item on the agenda was a welcome address given by Monica Mack Grant, followed by a presentation on class statistics and trivia by Wendy EarL It was reported that 49 members of the original class of 52 students were still living, 44 were available for comparison. Among those, there were 71 children, 40 marriages, 5 divorces and 4 remarriages. Three ladies were expecting at the time of the reunion, 7 dims members have graduated from college, with one student, Pauline Sheppard Novack, earning her master's degree in Social Work. Approximately 23 former students have received some college education or technical school training. The farthest trip made to Duchesne for the event was 800 miles and the closest was 1 block. The most common children's names were Justin, Cody and Misty. The program proceeded to include a history by Wendy Earl and Lee Moon, followed by a short dedication to the three deceased members of the class by nancy Brough. Linda Peatross passed out the awards, including Most Changed to George Jensen, Least Changed to Kent Poulsen, Most Weight to Wendell Moon, Most Inches to Melna Horrocks Ibach (also one of the expectant mothers in the group). Travelled Farthest and Most Children to Lou Ann Williams Brady, and Most Unique to Bryon Ibach. The group then selected a committee to organize a 10 year reunion. Named to the committee were Lori Morgan, Linda Peatross and Kent Poulsen. who also replaced the screening over the window. Members of the Ladies' Aide are at work each Tuesday, their regular quilting day. Those who would like to participate are welcome to drop over and join them any Tuesday. Myton Community Presbyterian church SEPTEMBER 8 WEDDING IS BEING PLANNED Lola Lindsay will become the bride of Craig Stansfield during a ceremony performed September 8 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Gilberts to speak at Sunday meet The Bryon Gilbert family will be speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday afternoon at 4:30 in the Roosevelt Fourth Ward, prior to their leaving for the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Gilbert has served as a seminary teacher and Bishop for many years, and his family has been active in church and civic affairs. They will be leaving Monday morning of next week for Richland, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. James T. Lindsay ol Mountain Home announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of theii daughter Lola to Craig Stansfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Stansfield of Bridge-land- . They have chosen September 8 to be married in the Salt Lake Temple. A reception will be held in their honor the next night September 9 from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. There will be a program and dancing. Lola is a 1977 graduate of Altamont high school. She has been involved in speech and drama, FHA, Cheerleading and drill team. She received a scholarship to Utah Technical College in Provo. Lola was also chosen to be in Who's Who for the last two years. Craig is a 1973 graduate from Duchesne high school. He was active in basketball, football, track and cross country. He served a two year mission in Minnesota, Minneapolis Mission. The young couple will be making their home in Bridgeland. Ken Pearson, an elder from Central Christian Church in Salt Lake City, was the speaker for the Sunday morning services on August 14. Mr. Pearson also furnished music for the services by means of a tape recording of the music featured at Central Christian Church from an earlier service. Mr. Pearson was accompanied to Myton by his wife, Colleen, and members of the congregation renew acquaintance with the couple. Next week there will be a lay speaker from the Ogden Methodist Church. A big improvement was noted in the appearance of the church with the removal of a large bird's nest from outside the large sanctuary window. The girls are staying for a couple of weeks with their grandparents, Frank and Bennie Reynolds. Bob and Norma Marshall and Norma Rae spent a few days in Salt Lake visiting with family and friends and shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Choncie Penfold and family spent the weekend with her folks Eva and Elba Justice. They also visited her brother, Lawrence .Justice and family. Visiting with Lew and Edna Littleton is their granddaughter. Lea Ann Wardle. She is the daughter of Lea and Alberta Wardle from Craigmont, idaho. Lea Ann has been here for 5 weeks and is leaving for home this week. LaRue and Jessie Pickup have their granddaughter Cammie Molton staying with them for a couple of weeks. Cammie is from Denver. The YCC group that have been on the Ouray Bird Refuge for the past 8 weeks doing odd jobs are leaving this week. Visiting at the LaRue Pickups last week were Mr. and Mrs. Bill ane, Denver, also Bill's 2 girls, Salt Lake, also Bill's brother Charles Lane of Salt Lake. LaRue Pickup made a trip to Provo on business during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Quint Pickup of Price spent a few days last week visiting with his brother Wayne Pickup of Randlett. Gar Brough and his wife Nelda of Salt Lake were out over the weekend visiting with family and friends. They stayed at their place on the bench. The oil rig that Lewis Labrum of Randlett is working on here has gone to Cokeville, Wya, for a few weeks. Lewis went with the rig. Berry and Elva Dean and Cody of Anaheim. Calif., left for home this week after apending 2 weeks with her folks, the Chandlers of Randlett.
