HE'S A Military groups present career days to seniors Representatives of all the military services will explain the advantages of their branches to senior high school students at Military Opportunities Day at Union Nov. 18 and Duchesne, Altamont and Tabiona Nov. 19. The travelling program will be put on a at 67 high schools in Utah this year. The program is sponsored by the Division of Instructional Support Services of the Utah State Board of Education. It is designed to acquaint students with the advantages of serving in the military, be it for a few years or as a career. Major General Maurice L. Watts, Utah Adjutant General said representatives of the Utah Army National Guard will also be on hand to explain the advantages of a combined military civilian career. He said all branches of the military provide excellent training in specialized fields. He noted, for example, young men and women who join the Utah National Guard can choose training in more than 300 career fields, most of which are compatible with civilian skills. Parents are also welcome to talk with the military representatives. In fact, said Gen. Jerri is in drill team, she was 1st attendant to Homecoming Queen, is a state FIIA Officer and attended National FHA Convention in Chicago, Illinois last July. She is presently of the FHA at Union. Her interests are; horsebackriding, dancing, and roller skating. Bill Streitz also a senior was chosen student of the month for October. Bill is an outstanding student, a member of student council, President of the German club, and an honor roll student. He was a delegate to the Senate Youth Program in Salt Lake for receiving the highest score on a test given to all student council members. Some of his interests are: Fishing and biking. Tryouts for the school musical were held November 6. Mr. Johnson stated that he was amazed at how many students tried out for the musical. There were 86 people who auditioned for the various parts. Construction of the new wrestling building is now underway. The building is expected to be completed before March of next year. Union's Varsity Basketball team for this year is: Terry Dahlberg, Bruce Dart, Blaine Dennis. Chris Denver. Cameron Eldreilge, Kevin Eldredge, Mark Ferguson. Kelly Miller.
